Not sure if it’s been said yet but the title of the track is actually a running joke from a fan translation for the manga The group adds in their own funny sfx translations, and one of them was “sfx: the rumble of scientific triumph” It became well enough known that the composer of the anime made it a track name and by god does it pull through on it Supposedly in the anime when it plays, the voices singing in the song slowly drop one by one in line with the scene’s events (no spoilers)
@TheSchokodragon3 жыл бұрын
Small correction: The voices getting fewer is a meme and doesn't actually happen in the score BUT! the idea was seriously considered by Penkin, the composer. Similar to the title being a nod to fan translation memes, the idea of a children's choir losing a voice every time (spoilers) happens until only one remains was by a fan! Penkin loved the idea but couldn't implement it properly, so at least he took the children's choir in general. It's awesome how fan interaction can inspire such amazing compositions

Bondrewd is insane. He’s seen something horrible coming and he cast off his morality to pursue a way of stopping it. His personality hasn’t changed, he’s still a kindly paternal figure but he’s so focused on understanding the Abyss that he has lost the ability to understand that other people are capable of suffering. He’ll praise people for their intelligence or strength or even for thwarting his immediate plans, and he’ll do so genuinely, all the while absolutely thrashing them in combat and describing how he’s going to dissect them to see what makes them so special. It’s really interesting that you use the terms synthetic and organic because he has heavily altered himself and he becomes progressively less human throughout the course of his story arc. Bondrewd never once stops being polite and paternal though, even at his most monstrous. He is ALWAYS in control. It speaks volumes about both the composer and your skill in breaking down composition that this came through in your analysis.

There'll spoilers ahead. The most interesting aspect of this OST is that it sounds almost heroic, really triumphant. We should understand that Bondrewd is a completely inhuman creature, at the same time we also see he actually is a very, very, heartful man. His achievement in this scene is the most significant in Abyss' History, and yet he is willing to give it up. He truly loves Prushka, and all of his children, they are absorbing the curse because their love for Bondrewd is sincere, and so is Bondrewd's, just as Prushka describes in her thoughts "I can feeel Daddy's pain". So we understand that his feat is actually something grand, but we are horrified by how it was achieved. And most specially: We know who are the children singing. Bondrewd is unrestricted science. His methods are completely messed, but what he does for extremely benefits humanity. He would not sacrifice humans if he didn't needed, as he triet to sacrife himself first. A truly benelovent man, a loving father, the most brilliant mind in the world, but with no restraint whatsoever and thus evil.

SPOILERS The chorus whith children voices is a rappel for the children sacrificed by bondrewd and the transcendance which have made him a superior creature, almost divine. While a Made in Abyss videogame 'Binary Star' is in the works, this track is from the 3rd film (like Hanezeve and Transcendence). There isn't really much technology in the series at least as the characters understand it, but Bondrewd absolutely makes extensive use of setting's magi-tech (relics). I was going to say that the villain isn't a robot, but without getting into spoilers he kind of is albeit in a very different way than Regu (one of the protagonists)
@rodrigo53093 жыл бұрын
This song is really Bondrewd translated into music. If someday you read the manga or watch the anime you'll understand why there are children singing in the background, and that will give you chills down the spine. You can already imagine something just because I'm saying it, but trust me: is far worst than your imagination can go.

In a more general context, this soundtrack really plasmate the corruption of science in benefit of curiosity and improvement. It starts as a relaxing orchestra song (like the moment we meet him, a gentle man and a great dad) , then the abrupt synthesizer appears and you feel like something is wrong, the intensity tells how truly Bondrew feels his cause. the drums and air instruments announce a king, a queer (in the old fashioned meaning) king or a legend that, for good or bad, will twist your mind and destiny.
