You are able to clearly convey a topic in less than 20 minutes than my professor does in three weeks. Thank you so much for all of your videos!!!

i watch your videos every week after our lectures. So 3 times per week. And i'm always impressed how clearly and understandable you explain those pretty complicated topics! Its awesome! you really help me getting through the semester! thanks for that!!!

Is it the same procedure of doing (E1/E2)*b1 if you have a hollow rectangular cross section of steel and a wooden section filling it?

Thanks for this, it really helps out a lot for my finals....

Do you have any video explaining the unsymetrical body approach with composites. I saw the early approach and I presume the only difficulty would be to calculate the geometrical parameters of the new transformed area.

Draw a beam with a vertical load applying on it at the mid span, now imagine the beam is bending down due to the applied load (sagging). The top will be shorten (compressed) and the bottom will be lengthen (tensioned).

Hi, so is it ok if we choose to transform the material to wood instead of steel? we will have different area? Thanx

why the graph go to the right side in compression? isnt compression goes to negative side and tension goes to positive side in the diagram? shouldnt the graph be like a sagging diagram?

Good Job ^^ Thank you :) I have a Question ,, if we can find the Stress at 125mm from N.A. by Sigma = - M*y/I ? I mean y=125 ,, that's right ?? and thank you again :) and wt about ,, if I have unsymmetrical beam/section I mean if I have normal stress by any Force + Stress by bending ?? " Eccentric axial loading " ^^ :)

My girlfriend (Singaporean) is a Senior Civil Engineer and I'm trying to help her find someone whom has online video tutorials on: 'Composite beams Design & Analysis to BS5950 & Eurocode' She's been given the study manuals/books but, prefers to learn the new system via online coaching/tuitorial. Is this possible? Were might one go or which online correspondence education site might one go to for assistance? Are their KZbin links here that can assist her?

When can we say that the tension at the top ?
@alvarogoenaga39658 жыл бұрын
+Zaineb Amjed In a continuous beam at the interior supports the moment is "negative" where the tension is at the top.

The way I always visualized it was to think about the exaggerated shape of the beam after the forces have deflected it. If it is a smiley face (concave up) it is positive, if it is an unhappy face (concave down) then it is negative. This rule of thumb has never steered me wrong :)

very informative videos, but it's just going a little slow, i clicked this video for composite beam analysis, but you spent most of the time to explain something else..
