Do you just draw the tie line on how and anywhere?
@abhijeetkumar1042 Жыл бұрын
Why solid and liquid end of the tie line represent the composition of respective phases present in the alloy at constitution point B?
@introductiontomaterialsscience Жыл бұрын
This can be explained using free-energy composition curves. I have not discussed this concept in this series, but you can check books or website.

sir why the phase concentration and alloy concentration are not equal in a two phase area .i could not understand physically
@introductiontomaterialsscience4 жыл бұрын
Phase concentration is the concentration of a given phase in an alloy. The alloy composition is the composition of the overall alloy. If the alloy is a single-phase alloy then the alloy composition and phase composition will be the same. But if it is a multi-phase alloy then different phases can have different compositions. And alloy composition will be different from the composition of the phases.

Sir in this pressure is constant..?.mean Temperature composition phas diagram what will be the constant kindly give me ans .?
@SupreethGaddam4 жыл бұрын
Not an expert, but yes, the temperature-composition phase diagram being discussed in this video has been plotted at constant pressure, i.e., atmospheric pressure (101.325 kPa).
@rajeshprasad1014 жыл бұрын
Yes, as Supreeth as also noted, in these diagram we keep the pressure constant to 1 atmosphere.
@althaf44324 жыл бұрын
Listen temperature and composition are dependent on each other if u change the composition automatically melting point ( temp) also changes. Pressure is constant over here.

Sir, How does the tieline method works?? I mean how drawing an isotherm gives me the respective phase composition at that state pt?
@jayakrishnaadapa88423 жыл бұрын
Mr. Shubham Shekhar as we learnt from the video tie line is a isotherm, means it was line drawn at constant temparature. Since we are in between two phases, we are extending horizontal line at constant temparature on two both phases to get composition of each phase

I was searching for this question. I have also the same question. Is there any theory, like at constant temperature, whatever the alloy would be, but the phase composition would be constant over constant temperature? Here,at constant temp, at point b, C(Ni)=60%, then C(alpha) =75% Using tie line rule If C(Ni)= any value between 50 and 75… C(alpha)= 75%. Please reply.
@deadman82494 жыл бұрын
Actually I got the answer in the next video. C(alpha) means percentage of component (here Ni) in alpha phase. So, If it is a (alpha+liquid) alloy, at 1300°c, only 75% of Nickel can be found in alpha phase, what ever the percentage of component(Ni) in the alloy would be.
