Helen's presentation and her knowledge of composition and placement is impressive , not to mention her teaching abilities. It's like she is reading from a book. The presentation very enjoyable. Helen is a role model for effective teaching. This goes for all of her videos.

Merci Madame

Are you hoping to find Helen explicitly teaching that rule in her lessons? While she might not draw a 3x3 grid and explain it in terms of placing elements along grid lines or grid intersections, she does frequently suggest avoiding centered compositions. For instance, the tree and objects like the bottle and lettuce are placed off-center, more to the left. She generally emphasizes not centering focal points.

Thank you for your comment. Over time, you will gain that experience. I think a simpler way to approach that idea is, 'Don't place the focal point in the center of the canvas.' So you are correct, her focus was more on creating balance and interest than blindly following rules. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and appreciation for Helen's teachings.
