I guess the Brady kids morphing into The Silver Platters and singing on a talent show is forgotten by time...or the whole " Time to Change" song when Peter's voice changed... From what I read, Robert Reed was actually enthusiastic about the variety show. He thought the Brady Bunch was dumb, but he couldn't wait to do the show. Go figure.
@ShmuckOnWheelsАй бұрын
I'm old enough to remember being young enough to watch the Brady Bunch as it aired back in the 70's and yes when Peter's balls dropped we thought it was the funniest, even though I didn't understand it. I was 4-9 years old from 1969-1974, and we watched every godawful tv show that aired. They tried to make The Big Ragu a thing a few times when they let him sing and dance on Laverne and Shirley but by the time Happy Days got really lame around 76-77 I'd lost interest and only watched a few episodes of L&S. I was starting to grow out of bad tv even at 11 or 12 years old. You had to be there to grasp how very terrible a lot of tv was. Cable tv was a godsend. I can't imagine Reed being excited about the variety shows because legend has it that he was a dick on the series because supposedly he was a Shakespeare actor stuck in a lame sitcom. Then again, nobody knew he was gay the whole time either so he did have acting skills. Plus, it wasn't noticeable because he didnt make it an issue. You know, the whole keeping your private life private thing.
