Then compress the master track, then compress the mp3, even my wife is compressed, she's 4'10.

when will this song be finished and where do i get to hear it when its done ??
@ZombieMagnum8 жыл бұрын
doesn't that have the same or at least a similar effect as using a very soft knee on one compressor with a right ratio?

that reminds me one thing that i heard one time one old guy told me if we put for example 3 limiters that every one is +1Db we gain more power and cleaner sound than to put one limeter to +3Db what is your opinion about that

ESW what do you use for your multimeter on the master to check your RMS and LUFS? Do you have any recommendation for plugins to check these values in ableton or plugins that can be purchased? Thank you.
@Adsrsounds8 жыл бұрын
It's a stock logic plugin. Izotope and waves both have a couple nice metering plugins for RMS and LUFS

are you using a bunch of third party plugins for your compressors? Are there any plugins included in logic that can be used instead?

btw great video, i've been watching a ton of your lessons over the past week

By compressing lightly, do you mean 2-4 db in GR? Then compensate with make up gain right?
@Sdbbffsd5 жыл бұрын
deanc2000 yeah most compressors have an output knob use that to turn it back up

Still grasping the idea of parallel compression. You have one dry signal and one compressed signal? Why not just compress on the channel? Compression and reverb so confusing to me! Great video tho!
@Mopark258 жыл бұрын
The parallel compressed signal is heavily compressed, with a high ratio and low threshold. You're basically slamming it. If you do that on your actual insert it'll just sound hard and too compressed, but if you mix it in with your dry signal it gives it more weight and power.
@DelasVC7 жыл бұрын
the main purpose is to bring up the 'percieved volume' and the charakter of the compressor while maintaining the dynamic range of the original signal since the dynamics would get lost otherwise

"I love you like gravity" Those are some pretty shitty lyrics
@EchoSoundWorks8 жыл бұрын
Mate, you heard 6 seconds of a song... Out of curiosity what do you think of these lyrics? "You held me down, but I got up" Prett shitty/basic lyrics for a 9x platinum, Billboard Number 1 Grammy nominated song huh? I would be hard pressed to find a chunk of 4-5 words in ANY song that on their own didn't sound weak or weird.

And there are a lot of dumb people out there who can't construct meaning from an abstract simile. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean that it's "retarded". I love you like gravity is saying that she doesn't know why she loves this person the way she does. There's this force and an attraction between them. It's not saying I love you, like I love gravity. Maybe if you knew about this definition of gravity: " the natural force that tends to cause physical things to move towards each other" It would help clarify things for you. So on her end, there's this force pushing her to love the other person, and she can't quite explain it. Next line.... "And you love me like a ghost in a a glass city" So this line has a simile and a metaphor in it which I get, this is tough stuff. We're talking high school level english/lit... love me like a ghost, is a simile. This means that this person, doesn't love them at all. They are absent. You ever heard of a ghost town? It means it's abandoned. So this relationship has been abandoned by one party involved. Next part of the line "in a glass city". Glass can shatter, it's delicate and brittle. This line is her saying that not only is the love absent and missing from the other person, she's also close to breaking and is feeling really fragile. Read a book bro!
