Great video as per usual! This is what I've been doing for all my compression purposes. For me its two biggest disadvantages, are that any time the kick pattern is changed, I have to change the trigs, and that routing delay and reverb into the FX block to side chain those can make them sound rather overdriven when sending other hot signals in there. The latter I work around by actually Plocking the reverb volume and leaving it out of the FX track, but that results in even more trigs to move around when I change the kick pattern. Still, it's served me well thus far. I now have a Behringer XR12 in my setup so I have more compression options, butI haven't quite had the time to design a new signal path and still put my externals through the FX track for now, just with a limiter at the end of chain and compressors on the individual synth channels going into the Syntakt to keep their volume more consistent when screwing with resonance and the like. I'd love it if Elektron could add some way to automatically trigger the FX track off another track, or at least add a software compressor using it.

Software master comp with routing like on dt2 would be great. One can dream. The FX block for me is a source of incredible inspiration. So it's not just used for compressing really. Thanks for watching and your thoughts !

@@Davemech I feel I’m missing out on quite a lot of fun by only being able to use it for compression, it’d be great to free it for other stuff (hence the XR12), although sometimes it’s quite fun to just explore what random stuff I can do during a performance with the routing being as it is and the trigs as they are, limitations can be fun!

Nice tutorial ❤! Syntakt really opens up with a compressor. It makes it groove far more than you can achieve with the built in FX. Hope Elektron will add one sometime

Your the Person who makes the syntakt Sound good. Dont really like all this Sharp metallic industrial sound . I always think i have to get rid off it but then so Special persons get something nice sounding .

Since the new update os 1.30 Ducking with the amp envelope does not work... anyone the same problem?

Make sure that the FX block is not muted. Easy to overlook as it can only be muted and unmuted in a mute mode and not in quick mute mode. Check both global and pattern mute modes. You also see this by holding FUNC. The fx button should blink white at every trigger. If it’s muted it will be green/purple
