I’ve been working in this trade for almost 2 years now (mostly residential HVAC) and thanks to this video you posted, I am just now learning that the bleed resistors on start caps are removable. Geez I learn something new every day. 😀

I’ve built cardboard and duct tape condenser fan shrouds in the past while the replacement is on order.

Need a little cardboard on the sides of the condenser to help with the air flow. Maybe you can drop the head pressure down a little

i never understood why Mars cant put resistors on at the factory like copeland does on the start caps....i guess that is why mars is considered the 'generic' brand

I was taught current relays don't need a resister on the capacitor. Potential relays do.

Did cleaning the condenser bring down the head temp or is it overcharged?

think the lack of a shroud is the issue if a Cap tube System is Overcharged it wouldn't operate

The charge is correct the lack of AC in the store it runs with high ambient temps.

Replacements are spade connectors and the capacitors have extra lugs.

I just replaced a skid last night. Existing compressor had a start capacitor, potential relay, and run capacitor. New compressor just has a start capacitor and a current relay. What’s the difference? The supply house messed up and sent me the wrong skid. I’m going back tonight to try to start it up.
