I mean, at times there is some profanity, and a few pretty obvious jokes (especially uttered by the right honourable Jim Hacker). Also, a certain subsidy proposal of a certain Bernard Woolley comes to mind, which could - all things considered and not putting too fine a point on it - be regarded as profanity by some of the more prude members of the intended audience. But overall you are correct though :)

For a very long time, speech patterns in Britain were the widely-used markers to distinguish the educated elite from the "common man." Much snobbery and outright discrimination can be attributed to that standard. I don't know how much that's changed in the present day. I mean, even Boris Johnson is articulate.

Bernard always had the best one liners . Without him both series would've lacked a lot of quality. They often talk about Paul's timing but Derek had perfect timing throughout the series as well. Brilliantly written too.

In fact he talked about it being a problem at a time when media and democrats were saying the flu was worse and telling people to live like normal. Thats how boris n corbyn made the ballot. The partymembership chose the leader which was impossible to control in the case of corbyn because the left had been waiting nearly 30yrs and put the full CLP system behind him. The PLP put him on the ballot but didn't realise just how big a disconnect there is between members and MPs

I really disliked John Major when he became Prime Minister. And then we got David Cameron, Teresa May and Alan (call me 'Boris') Johnson, and I realised that John Major was the best Conservative Prime Minister in the last 20 years. I still dislike him, but at least he was serious.
