It's amazing how many "adults" are immature, selfish, entitled people who don't understand the meaning of compromise and doing what's best for the family as a whole and not just themselves. Kirstie and Phil are incredibly patient.

@@Momabear1 I understand that some women can't work due to health or are stay at home moms, which is a job itself. For some families, it works best for the husband to be the breadwinner, but what bothers me is when they take advantage of their spouses or believe that their own desires are more important than the family as a whole. Their priorities aren't what they should be. Example: good schools should be priority over built in character that one can add with salvaged fireplaces mantles, beams, antique furniture, etc.

@@1miluieleimile I so agree with you! Nothing wrong with one of a couple staying at home raising children, but if the earner's job is in a specific area that area has to be a priority. The other top priority, in my opinion as in yours, should be good schools.

At first I thought Paul was a bit patronising, but he has the patience of a saint. Also that first house she rejected is probably worth upwards of a million now since lewisham is very trendy now. What a missed opportunity. They could’ve just moved in and had all of that space AND be in a prime london location. Also it was a 1930’s house which is period by definition, just not Victorian/Edwardian/Georgian, but those houses cost. Also the second family were mad not even look at the third home. I would’ve bought that one. You get a whole house, you even extend into the loft & extend the kitchen, make money on it, then move into the house you actually want when it increases in price. It’s also in the same postcode you wanted so they would’ve have access to all the bars & restaurants they wanted. It’s just mad. Having said all this, I’ve watched this show for well over a decade so all this information has really seeped into me about extending, improving, moving out further etc etc. It’s not so scary to me anymore whereas I suppose it was all new then.

Finding a house is like being newly in love. You ignore the negatives or think you can live with them. Worse, you think that the list of prerequisites in the beginning is perfectly sensible when it's totally unrealistic. Budget? No big deal. Location? Expensive is fine. House? 4,000 square feet at 150k is doable. View? Open fields and rolling hills in the middle of Kensington please! The fact that Phil and Kirsty actually fix stupid is amazing. It's nice...describing a horrific blind date or a so-so house.

Who wouldn’t want a charming historical house over a bland square new build…but they cost more in part because there are only so many to go around and so many people want them. I was very surprised that she came around to the homely house (which was far less ugly than some I have seen them showing I.e 80’s houses etc…) and am sure they made money if they kept it a few years. The garden was lovely which will help resale. As far as the flat, the price seems high for a two-bed but I guess it goes with the area. I love LLL; have watched for years. The biggest downfall people have is "putting their own stamp on the house". Get a grip; putting a coat of paint on walls, your own furniture and artwork in a house makes it "your own". Buy a house that it is a neighbourhood you can handle for a price that you *can* afford and purchase with the thought that you will live there forever, if possible. Property has always been a good investment. Unless there is another world war, it is unlikely that you will lose your investment in whatever you purchase. But this show has always been about seeing what's out there for what price and listening to Kirstie and Phil - the couples? if they aren't idiots, it's just a bonus!

That couple with the 3 boys, I dunno if I like how the husband keeps saying "you" to his wife about doing work and "you have 3 kids". As he has a business at home and IS married and the kids seem to be HIS, it's not "YOU have 3 kids", it should be "we". Yes she may not be able to comprehend the work involved in extending (I sure don't) but they should be in it together. He seems ready to throw her under the bus with decisions and work, and kids and everything. I just have this horrible feeling of "you didn't expect how much work is involved so go ahead do it..do it all".

She needed to grow up and and stop saying 'I' all the time. He worked to earn the money and he had to commute. She had to look after the children and would have had to oversee any work at the property. He was reasonable in not wating to lose hours each day travelling and he was right to be concerned about her slightly naive outlook. You need to stop being so easily offended over nothing.

After that, they have been on and on seeing properties and nothing has been of her liking. He has put up with a lot. He is running 3 businesses and putting up with a woman who moves into a house and says she doesnt like it the VERY FIRST DAY, and then pursues a dream house that is beyond budget.
