This was the 3rd question I had on the exam today. I passed with a 679 and needed a 675. It sounds bad but there were only 75 questions and I was expecting 90 so I figured I didn't need to know it like the back of my hand. I only studied using Jason Dions practice exams and just breezed over quizlet flashcards but not much. It's not as hard as people make it seem. A good 3 or 4 days of studying the practice exams and looking over some flashcards and you're ready. Don't stress it too much you don't need to pass with flying colors as long as you pass. Core 2 is next. Hope this helped somebody!

Agree I made 603 and that was only 2 days.. i know if I had at least 2 days I would’ve passed.

This was in my core 1 exam today. May 2024. Answer is Fuser (smudge ) and Roller (paper jam)

This is wrong. First spot: leave empty second spot: Fuser third spot: leave empty: fourth spot: rollers In the question it mentions "printouts are SMUDGING when they are handled" The second spot has to be FUSER. If the fuser is broken what happens? That means the fuser doesn’t get to “fuse” the toner or stick it to the paper, so then it SMEARS/SMUDGES because it’s not fused onto the paper. The third and fourth spot will state what size document the paper pertains to: (Third spot = Tray 2 - Letter Fourth spot - Tray 3 - Legal) In the question it states, “the manager tries to print OVERSIZED documents”, Oversized is referring to the manager putting paper in tray 3 - LEGAL size. It also states, “the printer jams before anything is printed on it”. Which means before the printing process even begins it doesn’t even get to touch the fuser, so it has to be ROLLERS.

I thought the same exact way. If you don't mind me asking, since you seem to be knowledgeable, would you happen to know the correct answer to this "CompTIA A+ Simulation Q&A part 3" video of his. The question was about building a Gaming PC vs A virtualization workstation. He said that the virtualization workstation would have the KVM, while the gaming PC would have the dual monitor setup, for the external display portion of the question. I was thinking it was the exact opposite, I posted my reasoning on the comments below the video. It would be great if you you let me know what you think, thanks!

hi all, are you sure the answer here is correct? I saw exactly the same PBQ in a different video , and the toner was in the field where the rollers are, and the rollers were at the very bottom, please advise as this is very confusing!

Did you place the fuser and roller in the wrong place.I think fuser on second box and roller on third?

Hi, I'm not sure they care about the position but the proper parts, I've made some research before I upload the video to compare with my results and most of what I found even they added more parts but they are in the same place showing in my video, thank you for your comment, if there's any update I will rectify it in the description.

@@CaIamity_ They definitely have to care. I put Fuser on "Tray 1" (above "Tray 2 - Letter") because that's where the printing process is and due to the oversized document getting jammed, I put Rollers on "Tray 3 - Legal" because a legal paper tray holds larger paper (which in this case scenario, is an oversized document). There's no way the fuser would be where the letter paper tray is....

@@DomR5 what? the Fuser is suppose to go where in the box where the fuser actually is on the pirinter... and the ROLLER should go in the box where is says oversized paper tray.... since that was the issue in the original question.

It's pretty much a clue for the SIZE of the paper. The question states that whenever the manager tries to print OVERSIZED documents, the paper jams... LEGAL SIZED PAPER/DOCUMENTS is LARGER ("oversized") than LETTER SIZED PAPER/DOCUMENTS.

Hi. This videos answer is WRONG just fair warning. While it is correct that it is the fuser and rollers that are the issue, their placements are incorrect. The rollers are assembled in the printer's loading area. Since it is for OVERSIZED pieces, this would be legal (which is larger than the letter). As a result, the rollers would be placed in legal. Second is the fuser. This is correct as the fuser basically heats up the toner where the imaging drum needs the toner, but this is an internal component, so would be where the rollers are now.

I honestly think he's wrong. FUSER would be above "Tray 2 - Letter" because that's where the printing process is. ROLLERS would be on the LAST one (Tray 3 - Legal) because legal paper is larger than letter... hence the OVERSIZED document getting jammed.
