Part 1: • Robert Ladd on Joining...
--------
Robert Ladd shared insights into the triple homicide incident that killed Orlando Anderson in 1998. Ladd disclosed that Anderson was at Mom's Burgers, across from Compton High School, when he spotted some men from the Corner Pocket Crip gang who owed him drug money. Anderson and another man, Michael Dorrough, confronted them, which resulted in a shootout and Anderson's death. Dorrough survived but was convicted for the triple murder, a verdict which greatly angered him as he was charged with his close friend's death. Officers who came to the crime scene tried to extract a death confession from Anderson, which he refused vehemently. Interestingly, Ladd compared this incident to Tupac Shakur's dying moment, stating that both men shared the same distrusting attitude towards law enforcement.

@@CG-xx2er I grew up in the Midwest but I’m a Cali dude at heart. I grew up LOVING west coast rap. I’m the biggest NWA fan in the world so I love learning about the area they came from.. I love LA culture despite only being there once. I was also stationed in San Diego and fell in love with Cali fr. From Eazy E to the Game, I love it all..Compton seems like an interesting place. You hear about the gangs and drugs but people also say there’s a lot of history behind the city and it’s beautiful in certain places. It’s a small city but a fascinating one if you’ve never been. I’m not fascinated with the Hood aspect of it (that’s nothing new to me), the entire LA scene is just interesting to me.

The “Stones” were not brothers they were uncle and nephew. Michael Stone and Jerry Stone. Back when crips first started in Compton in 1970-1971…. Before Any sets like: Southside, Corner Poccet, nutty blocc etc… there were just Compton Crips everyone was on the same page and there was no beef….later on Compton crips broke off into sets according to their neighborhoods. Michael Stone was a triple OG and he was an ORIGINAL Compton crip, he was there from the beginning. He was 6’5 and jacked like crazy when he died at the car wash he had just got home two weeks earlier from a 15 year prison sentence. This just goes to show Lane didn’t give a fuck about who he rolled up on at all!

Do you know who actually owed the money and was it owed to Baby Lane or Keefe D? I know Orlando's grandmother had just died a day or two before the incident, and he was up all night drinking.
@kidkully
@kidkully 7 ай бұрын
@@cipriandobrea7369 none of the stones owed the money, it was another member of corner poccet who owed some money to Big Dre and Lane. At the moment I forget his name but He was avoiding them and didn’t want to pay. The day of the shooting he was supposed to go to the mall with Jerry Stone. Jerry had to pick up his truck from the car wash. So he was reluctant to go to the Car Wash, but he felt safe because Michael Stone tagged along. He didn’t think anyone would mess with Big Stone who was 6ft 5 and respected in the streets…..Jerry Stone was a known killer all around Compton and actually he was the one who pulled the gun out first! Lane waited for him to turn his back then reached for his gun and then the big shootout began!

Ladd speaks with the casual tone of an LA County surfer of his generation, although I believe he is from OC, same thing. His tone is slightly nasal and rarely wavers. But his casual manner belies and insane memory and fierce intellect. He is also incredibly mature. No matter what happened, it was on to the next case, investigation, drive-by, meeting,... He took nothing personally. He did not hate the gangsters, nor did he romanticize them. Like a lot of young cops, he had to have been addicted to the adrenaline.

He's a dirty cop. Along with kading. They would let wounded people bleed out and die and wait to call in an ambulance to let them suffer/die. They'd pick up gang members (some people didn't even bang) and take em and drop em off in rival turfs so they can get killed. And don't get me started on his partner kading who messed up a federal case "accidentally". The feds had locked up Jorge of Numero Uno markets for working with cartels and laundering money, but kading SOMEHOW made a mistake on the case and got the man released. I'd say they were working with them businesses for extra pay. Dirty as they come
