Degenerative diseases like ALS can rob victims of their ability to move and communicate. But Stephen Hawking is proof that inside an immobile body, there can be a beautiful mind. Now a computer technology, combined with the brain's own neural signals, is helping people who can't move their mouths communicate some of their basic needs. VOA's Kevin Enochs reports.

Wow. Hawkings computer must have been magnitudes more powerful than this man's computer. He manages to barely get out a yes. Hawking was able to describe the beginning of the universe with speech as quickly and effortlessly as a healthy person. Riigghhtt...

Hawking had a muscle in his cheek which would be able to sent signals much easier to a computer

@@ohhihi That was some muscle. It could scan trillions of possible combinations of letters, numbers and words, and could respond as fast as someone who uses their brain to translate thoughts into words. And then, not only thought, but the most advanced theories ever, with zero delay. It's amazing how easily they get people to suspend common sense.

Since the "All LOVING GOD!" has decided to afflict us with horrifying diseases, Our GREAT scientists are liberating us from the wrath of the maniac creator.

God doesn't afflict anyone, that's just the current state of the world. So of course certain atrocities exist. How about giving credit to your governemnt funded scientists for the atrocities they create as well.
