One time I went to Animarathon in Bowling Green and there was a rave at the end of the con. I was in the corner of the room while my friends were dancing and I was texting. Waluigi walks over to me and taps me on my shoulder. I look up at him and he says, "Hey, can you do me a favor?" "Yeah, sure, what is it?" "I want to make $20 and the only way for me to do that is if I get a pretty girl to kiss me, so, will you kiss me?" "I haven't had my first kiss yet, sir." "Why not do it now?" I just looked him dead in the eye and said, "I'm 14 and not interested." And his face turned ghost white and he ran away from me like he was Sonic the Hedgehog.

This is part of why I hate being a Homestuck. I actually started carrying a little folding hand fan whenever I cosplay or go to a con. Gotta keep that paint on me. Also, of it's water based facepaint, bring a tiny spray bottle with water for touchups. ouo

I have a few con horror stories, I think all take place at Kumoricon. One of which wasn't too scary because I could have avoided it although I really wanted to help. There was a staff member at the con I somewhat got to know, I talked to her whenever I ran into her & at one point she asked me if I saw a Spiderman acting funny. I told her that I hadn't & she said that he scared one of the guests in the lobby & they're trying to find him so please report it to her if I find him. Outside, there's a park surrounding one of the hotels the con takes place at. I hung out there to look at the different cosplayers & ask to take pictures. While I was out there, I saw the Spiderman run by me. Instead of being a smart person & reporting him to the staff member, I chased after him to talk to him. Apparently, he hadn't taken his medication & was in a panic about it. He was one of those people who usually wore the pills in a thing around his neck but it had gone missing so he wasn't able to take it on time which caused him to act funny. I caught him right after his friend rescued him & he was calming down. I told him that staff was looking for him so he ran off to find a staff member. I also made sure to inform the person I talked to on what happened. It was dangerous to approach him & my heart was pumping but I like taking care of problems. I'm actually really happy that I helped out this guy too. I saw him again at future cons as a official photographer I think, he was wearing a special badge & had a nice camera setup. What was creepy then, lead into something nice & I'm happy it did.

My con horror story: I am 12 and I guess as you said "gifted" in some areas. I was cosplaying maka from Soul Eater. I was with my friends and I was the youngest with them and we where in the artist alley and I wasn't paying attention and my three friends wandered off and next thing I new I was lost in a artist alley. I walked over to a man and asked if they had seen them, he said that he had and to follow him and of course I did, because I just wanted to be near my friends again. So I followed him until I realized he was leading me to an empty ballroom, reminder this man was like your average neckbeard weaboo. I began to kinda panic because well, the fuck? I tried to kinda wander away but this dude GRABS MY BOOB. Okay I thought it was an accident but it was way longer than it should've been if it was (I've done it to friends by accident and quickly pulled away once I realized) but he saw and just kinda stared and let go slowly, thankfully I got away but still The fuck? 😂 (shutocon)

when I was Rey from Star Wars and a bunch of stormtroopers literally surrounded me and one put their hand on my shoulder and attempted to "interrogate" me, thankfully I wasn't all that bothered by that, and sort of laughed it off while still being quite intimidated, but I wish that some cosplayers would take others personal boundaries/comfort zones into consideration when doing something "in character", as not everyone would have reacted the way I did (+ a guy dressed as Kylo Ren stalked me for the next hour? not a fan of that, even if he was trying to be in character)

You're Amethyst is perfect!! Also, there was this time at con where I was female Engi from TG2 and my girlfriend at the time was female Scout. This was the first time I showed my belly but everything else was covered. My girlfriend wore short shorts and a sports bra. This is her first time doing anything revealing as well. So we met up with this guy and hung out with him a lot. I got upset over this trivial matter and my girlfriend and I sulked, holding hands, with our friend behind us. We didn't see this but according to him, this old man was trying to take pictures of us from behind and our friend kept blocking the way and the man kept trying to maneuver around him to take the picture. Ugh. Some people. We did resolve the matter and realized it was stupid though so it's all good. Except for the old man. That pissed me off and scared me out of doing anything revealing again in the near future.

+UmbraPrelaitor Yoooo. Yup that is one of the most disrespectful, annoying things ever. When people try to get creepy photos of cosplayers without their consent- or even worse, trying to get a wardrobe malfunction on camera. Gross. Glad you got the other things sorted out though!

I don't remember which con it was but I was cosplaying Kakashi (from Naruto xD). It was so incredibly hot that day! Now if you know his outfit, it's really heavy stuff. like, fully covered, double layered stuff. I was going to get some food with a friend when i suddenly felt so sick that i just had to step aside to not smell the food. Later that day, I took of the turtleneck i was wearing and just walked around in his vest. (i would've gone shirtless but there are two things on my chest that won't allow that xD) Wear appropriate clothes, don't die from heat strokes, don't freeze yourself to death! xD Please

These are two little stories from Indy Fur Con 2015. I've got nothing against the con, just against the creepy dude. Emma is my friend, I went with her and her mom. Emma, her mom, and I were at IFC 2015, standing around in the main convention area. A few times, even at different cons, we had seen this balding old man pushing around a cart full of little stuffed animals. We were in-suit and this guy comes up to us. He then proceeds to pull two stuffed rats out of his cart and starts “roleplaying” with us. We try to play along to avoid the situation getting any more awkward -- as if it could. This creep-o guy takes his fake rat and sets it in Emma’s mom’s purse, still trying to play with us. But that isn't it. It gets to the point where this guy puts the toy rats in our muzzles. Honestly, that was the bottom line, so Emma’s mom makes an excuse to leave and we hightail it outta there. I think one of the cringiest things is what happened later that night. We were in this one hallway that held the doors to the ballroom where the rave was taking place as well as a door to the outside. I was with Emma and a few of our goods friends we had met at the con earlier in the day. Anyways, two lady reporters come in and try to talk to some people. I ignore them, but I look at who they're talking to. The bald guy. I hate being rude, but he is an absolute creep. He has long, discolored finger nails, a balding head, dirty looking ears and tails, and just the "creepy pedo man" vibe emanating off of him. The two ladies, have that look of "Wow, this guy is a creep-o. This'll make a good story." This old man looks REALLY excited and is holding his toys and looking so ecstatic. I understand that he's interested in sharing his passion, but... *shudders* *sigh* This is why the media (and a lot of other people) hate furries.

Snowy Crescenzo that's creepy. I had an experience were some balding dude well into his 40s came up and sat next to my friend and I while we were eating. (We're 16 and 15 and have badges on saying we're minors). Anyway, this dude is just creepy, he has two necklaces on one that says cumslut and one that says daddy. To cut to the chase, he eventually asks if we're over 21.. like wth?? One of his friends simply passing notices we were young cuz he called us kids. Just ugh but other than that the con went well

Balding old man...cart of plushies....sounds like the "Chihuahua Twins" (if not both of them). I heard of a pair of old guys they call "Chihuahua Twins" with a cart of animal plush toys. They say these guys are super creepy and try to get con patrons to do innapropriate stuff with the plushies (i.e. puking in the plushies mouth to "feed" it)....

Very interesting stories... but pretty mild compared to mine. See, I've been going to cons for about 28 years now... This one is often called an urban legend, but it really happened at the second Ikkicon in Austin, Texas in 2007. It was Saturday evening sometime between 5:30-7 PM. You know how some cosplayers start to stink by then because they haven't showered? Well, this one guy decided he was going to do something to stop it once and for all. Dressed in cammo and armed with two cans of air freshener. He started going around and spraying every cosplayer he could in the chest with the air freshener. He would also shout at them "TAKE A SHOWER!!!" Initial reaction was mild amusement in some and horror in others. Many started running away. However, it was his third victim that was the worst. She chose to duck right as he sprayed her.... and she got it in her face. The scream she let out kept me awake that night. It was about this time security was able to get to him and subdue him. She had to be taken to the hospital. This is why many conventions now ask their patrons to practice good hygiene. I also write an online manga, Secret Agent Fangirl, which has more of these stories.

Your Amethyst makeup is gorgeous! Thankfully I haven't come across any con creeps yet. The only thing I have that resembles a con horror story, aside from minor malfunctions, is having to bring my sewing machine and hot glue gun and all of my materials to the hotel room to finish my cosplay! I finally finished it about an hour before the panel I wanted to attend. I went as Captain Metal (Sonic Universe), and thankfully the experience more than made up for the insane amounts of stress and glue burns. :)

I'm not sure if anyone has already said this or not, but my advice from my (exceedingly limited) time of cosplay is that it is totally okay to make modifications based on the situation. Here are two examples: 1. This past June, there was a Hetalia meetup in the middle of a big city. Now, it was June, and I was not trying to die of heat stroke in my France cosplay. It was because of that I wore light pants and a lighter french-themed shirt, therefore giving me the correct cosplay impression without hurting myself. 2. This coming up Sunday, I have a cosplay meetup in the same city. It will be cold, as it is the end of January where I live. Despite the fact I'm cosplay from Ouran and that comes with a jacket, I'm not doing a heavy cosplay simply because it isn't going to be the same as a convention. Because of that I am going to bring the jacket and most likely wear a green sweater to enforce my casual theme, thus keeping myself warm and socially comfortable. I'm not sure if those two examples were really obvious and/or really unnecessary, but I do hope it helps someone in the future! Cheers! (And wonderful video, Spiffy :D)

I have two horror stories actually. I was at a decently large con in New York called ToraCon and I was Lady Palutena from the Kid Icarus series and we were all walking to take a break in a downstairs area. We sat down and my strapless dress got caught in something and I almost flashed everyone. I'm just thankful my friend that I brought along with me was there to block me as I fixed my dress. My second story is that the group I made friends with wanted to go to a "Who's that Pokemon" panel. I didn't mind so we all went there. I'm not a HUGE expert on Pokemon, I have only played Emerald version. So the panel starts and I keep whispering to my friend, "I think it's -insert Pokemon here-". Some dude in front of us just turns around and says "you're close but not at all right." It was rude and I just brushed it off. I kept guessing and he kept rudely saying I was wrong. I was seriously about to punch this guy in the face because I wanted to have fun.

Hey SpiffyPenguin, for the future if you ever need a hoodie type garment for a cosplay, Oakley makes a hoodie style shirt that is for warmer weather. It's a thinner material. It doesn't cost that much either, about the same as a normal hoodie. They fit like hoodies do too, and are designed more or less the same way.

Ohhh my god, I enjoyed your video so much! Thanks for sharing. My con horror story happened on the Saturday evening of a comic con. Me and my friend were super tired, starving, and just trying to make our way down to the lobby to meet our ride. We got into an elevator, and accidentally pressed a button to the basement of the convention center. We didn't notice until a con staff member and a really popular local band stepped in with us. We felt so bad and were apologizing like crazy. The staff member was a little more than irritated and rudely told us that we had gotten on the wrong floor and not to do it again. Meanwhile the band members were just laughing like maniacs. I don't even remember who I was cosplaying, but my friend was sweating off her makeup and we looked terrible to be honest. My sister and I were at the mall across the street from a convention earlier this year, and my sister was dressed as princess Jasmine. Her costume was pretty well received too (not in an inappropriate way) until we stopped for food at the food court. Because there was a convention nearby and there were cosplayers everywhere it didn't bother her when a guy working at the food court stopped her for a photo. But like, as soon as he took the photo the guy insisted on getting her phone number to "text it to her". A few other guys working at the food stall also asked her questions and for her number. One guy even being like "where's your prince charming" and if she was looking for one. Those sort of questions. Yeah, so we just kind of awkwardly walked away and tried avoiding them after that.

My convention horror story, incidentally is ALSO from Connecticon. I want to say it was 2007 or 2008..probably 2008. Anyway, I was cosplaying as Ed Elric because he was (at that point) pretty much my main cosplay. FMA was still very popular then as well so I got a lot of people giving me high fives (which is fun) and even got glomp tackled and nearly fell over face first (which is NOT so fun), but it was still all right and the con was still fun at this point. Then my fiancee and I decided to get some food. This was (I believe) the first year they had the food area on the first floor open and they had the gaming room and the table top gaming down there at the time. Anyway, we had just gotten our food and were making our way to a table to sit down. The area directly in front of the food was (unsurprisingly) full, so we trekked the small distance over to the very edge of the table top/Magic area and sat down at an unused table. We had just started eating when I hear someone yelling "Ed! Ed!" and see this Envy come running across the floor. He was a very good Envy, so I thought nothing of it and even complimented his cosplay because, why not? We were from the same show, his cosplay WAS good and he DID come running over just now. He sat down with us, which was already a slight red flag, but we thought nothing of it really, we weren't ready to leave yet and my feet were dying so sitting was nice. He started talking to me, rather excitedly (I think about FMA, don't honestly remember) and would ONLY address me, completely ignoring my fiancee (who wasn't cosplaying, but not really the point)and I was trying to be polite and talk with him while we finished. We get up to leave and he FOLLOWS US! We had even said we were leaving, trying to politely give him the hint that we wanted to go do our own thing now, but he didn't get the hint and followed us EVERYWHERE! We intentionally tried to lose him (this was my 3rd year going, so I knew the convention center really well by now), speeding up, ducking through crowds, we even ducked into the Ladies Room since he couldn't follow us in there (we're both female) and figured we'd wait him out in there. We exit the bathroom a good 10 minutes later AND HE'S THERE WAITING FOR US... We again walked off really fast since he had by now gone full stalker weirdo on us and he still followed. My fiancee had, by this point, had enough since nothing was working (and he had been following us/taking pictures with me without asking for at least 30+ minutes by this point) in getting him to leave so she turned around, looked him dead in the face and told him to stop following us. She -may- have been a -bit- more rude about it, but we were so annoyed by that point, that it was inevitable. He had, at this point, FINALLY left, looking confused and slightly angry. He probably didn't really mean us any harm (but I couldn't tell for sure and it was creeping me out), but I was far less able to deal with con weirdos back then as I am now.

once, i was at a convention with my boyfriend and we were nice enough to talk to this one guy. He was a little talkative but it didn't seem like anything off. he was a good bit older than us, but we hang out with older people a lot, so its fine. Our friend was the first to say that there was something off about him, but we brushed it off. we shouldn't have! for the next two days he was at our heels, asking for contact info and which hotel we were at, it was really frightening and ruined our experience until a group of senior cosplayers from our fandom actually stepped up and said they had dealt with him before. i started having an anxiety attack, and one of them led me away. it turns out they have a system to get rid of this particular guy! he is that much of a reoccurring problem, it was insane, but in the end, it made for a pretty good story.

I have a few weather stories! Okay so first time I cosplayed as Mephisto from Blue Exorcist it was an early spring con, and the weather was wonky. warm one day, cold the next. It happened to be cold the day I wore him (Tights are not warm!) and outside at a photoshoot a bunch of us when we were not in pics would all huddle together under my massive cape. So I decided that maybe Mephisto was better for a little warmer weather. A year and some later I took Mephisto to a early summer con because a friend had requested I do so. They were covering my room cost for me (I cant remember why) so I was like "Sure, I'll cosplay whatever you want me to since you aren't charging me for hotel!" Well, I do Mephisto on Sunday with my friend's husband (BF at the time) as Shiro (This is why she wanted me to cosplay Mephisto. Shippy pics!) well, It's quite warm that day, cooler than usual for the time of year, but still warm. I was walking around with the friend's hubby taking one last look around venders when I start to feel not so great, so I seperated from him (Small con so i felt safe running off on my own. I knew like, 90% of everyone there at some level so yeah. lol) I go to a water station and get myself some water, i feel a little better, and some friends happen by and insisted I needed to eat. It was still before lunch so i hadn't been too worried about it but okay. So we go out and walk down a block to the nearest place to eat, and it only gets worse. when we get there and get our food I took off my hat and wig and felt better and was able to eat. but when i tried putting them back on and walking back to con i almost passed out. Had to take off hat, wig, cape, and jacket for the rest of the con. That was how I discovered that that cosplay is not good for any weather, but if i had to choose, I'd rather be a cold mephisto. Similarly, one con I was REALLY excited to cosplay Rei from Free! for the first time. it was a fall con, my last con of the year, so i knew i would be cold... I didn't expect it to snow, though. snowing and I'm outside in swim suit pants and a Tshirt (I didn't have my jacket yet). And then there was the time I thought it'd b a GREAT idea to cosplay Sebastian from Black Butler at my hottest con. Mid summer, the whole con was hosted outside except for venders and all that which were in classrooms on the hosting campus, which didn't seem to have AC at all... yeah, that was also a mistake, but not as bad as Mephisto had been. Do I learn from these? Nope. Because when I can go to only limited cons each year I want to cosplay what I want to cosplay damned be the weather...

Two odd/creepy things happened to me last year at the same con. 1) I was just chillin with my friend from high school and my younger sibling, because we didn't really have any panels we were super interested in going to at the time. So, we were just walking around and being dumb. One guy in an orange shirt who we've decided to call "Orange Guy" came up to us. He was really obviously hammered, which is weird because it was about early afternoon. But he came up to my friend mainly, and she was cosplaying Honey from Ouran, complete with a big stuffed bunny and everything. And he just asked if he could see it and she showed it to him, but he kept trying to physically take it from her. He was asking "Can I have it? Can I hold it?" over and over again. Thankfully a couple security guys came and led him away really easily. 2) Later at the same con, my friend from high school and my buddy I'd made at the same convention a year earlier, and I were all walking around, just laughing and being stupid. You know, normal Saturday night stuff. While we were walking around, some guy who had to be in his twenties at least (we were all 16-17ish, mind you) came up to us and I don't know if he was trying to be in character because he was cosplaying the 11th Doctor, but he poked the end of the very fake wooden SNK sword I was carrying around and just said "Ooh, pointy". I had no idea how to reply, so I just kinda nodded and said "yes" slightly sarcastically. Then he held his arms out in the silent "Can I have a hug" way. I had no idea what to do because I wanted nothing to do with this guy. But, being the people pleaser that I am, i went for the awkward, very loose, one armed hug. We left pretty quickly after that and I didn't see him again, but it was just really fucking weird.

+Zelene Moore There's something about cons that makes everyone want to drink all the time. I am all for wine and fun after a con day if it's an option- I'm that 'mom' type who likes wine. But I don't get the staggering drunks in the day time hours. I don't get why you'd want to pay for a convention badge just to eliminate all sobriety before the sun even sets. Good on staff for the quick response. As for the second person, there are just some creepy people at cons some times. There's a story this reminded me of that I know I'm including in my next video and it's unfortunate but these types come out for cons. Going in a group is one of the best things for that reason. So glad you and your friends were okay both times though, the nice thing about goofing on the stories years after is that you're around and okay to do so.

At Phoenix Comicon in May,on Friday, I went with my dad's friend and her 9 year old daughter. While we were in the convention center, my dad's friend realized she had lost her car keys. She went back to the parking garage to see if she had left her keys in her car, while I walked around with her daughter. She eventually had to call a locksmith, and then realized she lost her wallet. Her daughter and I had to run around the Vendor's hall stopping at all the booths we visited, to see if she had accidentally left her keys there. Her wallet was locked in her car, but it turns out her keys weren't even in her car, and we picked them up at the lost and found. Needless to say, Saturday was a much better day for us!

At least you weren't doing .hack like I did! I was doing it in the middle of July at MetroCon in Tampa. I was wearing knee high boots, slacks, a trenchcoat, and had twin blades my fiancé made! I was glad the stuff I used for the face markings and arm bands which were made with the Maybelline Color Tattoo in silver. Anyways, I had a voice actress glomp me, a voice actor give props to the twin blades, and by the end of the day I was panting and hit a seat or shall I say three seats at once. One for each twin blade and the middle one for me. Someone asked if the seats were saved but told, "No! The two are for my blades on my belt!" After that, I made sure I had water on me at all times and drinking it when I can. Also, most cons would have water stations which is a major blessing even in Florida!

when i was a kid, i used to go to anime boston with my family. first year i went, my mom made a skitty (from pokemon) hoodie for me and a prinny (from disgaea) hoodie for my younger brother, and we "cosplayed" in those. i was 12. we were walking around the dealer's room and this dude walked up behind us and started stroking the ears on my hoodie, in this long, drawn out "skiiiitty" -- my dad glared at him and he went away, but it was still really creepy. i mean, the fact that i'm 21 now and i still /remember/ this means it must've had quite a bit of an impact at the time, right? regardless, i continued going to cons and still do to this day. even with bad/weird/uncomfortable experiences, as long as you can recover from them and enjoy yourself, cons can still be really fun ^^

"This is what hell feels like" As a Australian who lives in a very hot area of Queensland and has a cosplay that involves full Motocross armor and a full helmet, plus a domino mask, plus leather, then a wig, and to top it off most of it is black fabric, and the only con I can go to being in summer.. I know that pain. I've been researching the types of under-armor and methods/tips fursuiters have about what they do and wear to keep cool though, so I'm hoping to test those out and see if they help, seeing as I mainly cosplay characters who have masks that cover a large portion of their face(And a small select few who cover a small portion) ;v; And it's the hotter days in cosplay that I thank god I'm not cosplaying like.. Alphonse Elric(FMA), or Big Daddy(Bioshock), or Ironman or even Simon Jarrett(Soma)(Who, ironically, I have on my list of future cosplays..) .. And that winter in my town is really really cold.

I went to comic con dressed in my Attack on Titan cosplay. I had on a wig, binder, undershirt, dress shirt, jacket, pants, boots and the straps. I live in the desert and it got to over 100 degrees on the day of the con. It did not help that the cheapest parking was like 3 blocks away from the actual convention. Not only that but when we got to administration (another block away), we just then found out that for some reason they wouldn't accept cash anymore. So, we had to walk all the way back to our car and get our card before walking all the way back. I don't know how but I survived considering my boots have a 3 inch heel.

I feel that last one but the opposite version in that I didn't have enough on for winter. Unfortunately I'm still somewhat young and can't afford to go to any other cons aside from my local one that takes place in the peak of winter so if I'm ever dressed in shorts or a skirt I have hell to pay. My convention is pretty much a 100% indoors con so it hasn't caused much trouble but I do remember this one time my friend's mom was going to drop off some money (didn't live with her mom) and we had to wait outside for her. My friend was in a sleeveless ballgown. I felt pretty bad and tried offering her my coat since I was dressed in a tailcoat suit to match the dress but omg she was so pissed waiting for her mom in the cold that she told me to fuck off when I tried covering her bare arms. She had a sour mood for like two hours that set the stage to make that entire day miserable, but that's a whole other story that's too long to tell.

My con horror story: Me and two friends went to Nebraskon last year. One of them didn't have a cosplay so me and him wore matching onesies. Over the course of the convention we made two close friends. We were hanging out with them Sunday afternoon when one of them get a call and all you can hear is this girl freaking out on the other line. Our new friend told us that one of the people she came to the con with had their cosplay fall apart at the seams and was now in a corner trying to hide herself. When we got to her we saw how the seams around her chest and stomach had ripped apart. My friends tried to hide her and me while I got out of my onesie and lent to her. We then rushed her to a cosplay repair for safety pins. As she fixed her cosplay she told me that at least two people saw her exposed chest. She gave me back my onesie but I just could never imagine having to go through that.

I remember because I had PLANNED on cosplaying my Ed Elric again, had the cosplay with me and everything and I remember reading the temperature on a sign somewhere as the bus was pulling into South Station (this was before I drove to AB) and thinking that it couldn't possibly be right. It was and I was super glad I had brought regular clothes as well and just ended up not cosplaying at all due to it being so hot.

it was my first convention, and so we were getting ready, I order my John Egbert cosplay and I was hyped. My friend was going with me and we were all set, but then, she cancels so I was kinda upset id be going alone cause I was new to all of this, then my cosplay didn't come in on time. I was so freaked out, so my friend pitched in to come, I had to introduce her to the Homestuck fandom she was hyped but sadly we had to buy stuff at Walmart for kankri instead and it was summer so no sweater and idk how to sew. I had these ugly sweat pants and short sleeve shirt and horrible wig, we get to the con LATE so I buy a wig they only had one black one that had blue in it and I needed a fully black. so I took it cause it was still pretty and it's better than nothing, we miss the party cause someone told us it was 18+ and worst part is for my Kankri cosplay I had no idea how to do make up, but we still had a blast and can't wait to go this year to Mechacon New Orleans

Ive been going to cons for about 3 years now and last year, my sister, our friend and i dessed up as Ib, Mary, and Gary from the RPG horror game Ib. While at the con, we were having a great time people loved our cosplays and asked for pictures. However, there was one man who was VERY suspicious and it was obvious he only wanted a picture with 2 girls as he said "Can i get a picture with you, (pointing to me), and you (pointing to Mary). And he wanted Gary, my sister to take the photo for him. I would like to say we said no in a heart beat...but i was 15 and it was only my second con and i didnt want to cause a scene :-L

it didnt happen to Me tbh but at my very first con in 2014, I was with a friend for the weekend and we were cosplaying Homestuck (im ashamed) so obviously.. we were around the homestucks. And I'm both very bad at reading people and I never really Notice bad vibes from most people so I didn't pick up on this guy but there was this one Maid!Equius who was kind of.. obsessed with my friend on Saturday? Like he got to kiss her because.. dumb kids play spin the bottle at cons and kiss strangers, ew. And supposedly he really wanted to kiss her again after that, and he talked about her a Lot to one of the nicer people from that con. (Including essentially talking about sexually assaulting her lol..) Anyways late into Saturday, I think either before or right after our time spent at the Rave, we were all chilling near the doors waiting to go out and go home, yknow, and out pops this equius... yikes. And by this time I'd heard about this so I'm really really iffy on him. And all of a sudden he just.. kisses my friend. No asking for consent, no warning, he just k i s s e s her. And like both me and this friend were like younger teenagers (her being 15, me 14) so it was a really big deal and pretty nasty. Like as far as I'm aware the only reason he stopped was because I was freaking out and yelled about the __ second rule (a rule we had to use during spin the bottle so people didnt wind up making out in the middle of the circle lmao) It was honestly really Bad and the fact that the same weekend another equius was a total doucehbag as kind of put me off of Equius cosplayers as a whole lmao

+Tranquil Colors Just check Etsy! I actually want a different gem because this one is a little too translucent for my liking. There are tons of options though, even some that light up!

This isn't really a horror story like other ones I've heard but it was just mildly weird and kind of creepy...so this was the very first con i went to with a cosplay, i went as Rem from Re:zero and i was really excited to go so i put a lot of effort into making it as accurate as possible. Anyway, after getting there eveything was going super well, i was really flattered that a couple people wanted to take a pic with me and whatever but then these 2 dudes asked to take a pic and i was like yeah sure and just the way they took them weirded me out and they just got really close to my face and it was making me slightly uncomfortable but i just went with the flow... after they finished a friend that i was with was like they were weird and i was like i know and for some reason i just had a really bad feeling for the rest of the con feeling paranoid about what they were gonna do with the pictures...they werent even professional photographers, they just had cellephones another one is where i went to a cosplay rave dressed as mia wallace from pulp fiction and all i was wearing was a button up white blouse and black pants, nothing revealing or provocative, and this guy that was apparently a friend of my friends started hitting on me and i made it more than clear that i wasnt interested in him, i tried to be as polite as possible but he just kept insisting and grabbing onto my hands, he even tried to kiss me and thats the point where i was like no im not doing this and i kind of panicked because it was the first time i had been to a rave like this and i just called my parents to come pick me up asap..i sort of terrified them, i kind of feel bad but i didnt know what to do

I've just turned 13 and I'm (hopefully) going to my first con this year. I hope nothing bad happens but I'm watching loads of con horror story videos to know what to avoid. Also I'm cosplaying Juuzou Suzaya and last night I was practicing the little marks on her neck and I fell asleep with all my makeup stuff on, this morning my mum screamed when she saw me because the red lines on my neck had smudged and my mum thought they were slits on my throat.

Oh goodness! That is one whole predicament, love, so sorry that happened but I hope the practice is paying off! I'm sure you'll look great and yes, I agree, convention horror stories sometimes make for the best learning tools for first cons. Be safe! (and if you need any other tips, check out my convention tips video or even message me on Twitter or Facebook!

I think the worst thing that's happened to me at a con was a guy who creeped up on me as Pedobear. He was running around the con pretending to "kidnap" kids and he thought I was a kid and it would be funny. My fiancé nearly pummeled the guy and the cosplay is currently bannedish at the con I go to >A

Last year at nc Comicon I decided to wear my Quadsuit since I was proud of it and it was nice and cold out. Well, I wore it outside for half an hour and when I took it off I was drenched. This may was really hot but I still wanted to wear my quad and enter the costume contest at animazement( Which I won 2nd place in!) so I did. Well, I put it on the day of judging and ended up having to basically wear only half of it at a time if at all due to the heat. When I went on stage to get my award, I was only in the body suit and carrying the head because I had started to take it off cause I might pass out. I went back and took it all off and stood in the back only wearing my underarmor and socks and got called up again for another award so I had to go onstage to accept an award in very unflattering clothing and while sweating profusely. Yay!

So this happen at anime stl 2014. Two days before the con the friend that I had invited to go with me bailed because her dad didn't want her going and I ended up going alone, biggest mistake of my life. I was 16 at the time and my mom had called me off of school that Friday so I could go to all 3 days of con. I had gotten ready and then we drove there and she walked in with me to get my badge after she left and said to text her when I wanted to go home. This was also the first year she didn't stay at con with me. I had got there right as registration had open up so I got my badge pretty quick though with that nothing was open till three. With this I decided to go out front and sit and text my mom till something open. I was minding my own business when this guy that had like half a bleach cosplay on cause he didn't have his wig and contacts ready started talking to me making pleasant conversation. I didn't think anything of it he was nice enough and we were talking about what countries we've been to and anime stuff like that. I thought he was going to leave me alone once stuff started opening up, we'll he didn't. After talking to him he wouldn't leave me alone and followed me around con and kept saying how pretty I was, I would just laugh and say thanks akwardly. I had only gotten away from him once when I reunited with a con friend from the year before when I took my best friend to her first con for her birthday. He did this every day of the con and I made the mistake of giving him my number though I ignored all his text after con ended and deleted his number and haven't heard from him sense. Later I found out he was 25 years old. This story continues on to this year anime stl 2015. I had taken another friend to this con for their birthday. This friend that I brought had made friends on instsgram and ran off to hang out with them leaving me alone again. I did not have anyone to hang out with till I met my cosplay sempai there and they happen to be friend with other con friends I made. Though that whole convention I had to avoid this man and at one point I walked right past him but at the time the cosplay I wore covered half my face but it was too close for comfort. I hope this story does not continue into the next stl though this time I'll have my con family I ended up meeting through cosplay sempai so ya they helped me hide this year.
