As someone who was in college in the late 90s/early 2000s (way back in the pre-KZbin days), having a network TV show like this was gold. I could watch it regardless of whether my housing at the time had cable, and it fits my absurd sense of humor to a T.

For a little over 27 years (2/1/82 the start of Late Night with David Letterman - 2/20/09 the end of Late Night with Conan O'Brien), the 12:30 hour on NBC was a comedy goldmine, a rest haven for the awkward, left-of-center, emerging, experimental, eccentric, purveyors of new/good music, and just plain funny people. That spirit left with the debut of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but Conan continued what Dave started -- but completely put his own spin on it.
