Conan is my hero!!! I'm Mexican and have lived both in the US and Mexico both as a child and as an adult. I remember him getting his show back in 93 when I was a kid. His comedy has always made me laugh so hard! He's a true comedic genius in the sense that he understands comedy and is funny from an instinctual gut sense. I remember a sketch from his early years watching it with a bunch of friends, in which they present the bat that Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off, and "by modern science wonders" it was kept alive, as well as making it possible to talk. And when they interview the bat on it's life sustaining machine, it only says: "kill me, kill me" my friends and I were all pissing ourselves laughing!!! Him doing this show makes me love him even more!! Gracias amigo Conan!! Eres mexicano carbón!! Te queremos!!!

Can NEVER thank you enough, Conan and crew, for highlighting, humanizing and humorously hi-jinxing the multiply wonderful people, cuisine and culture of Mexico! Sharing with you, Conan, an Irish immigrant lineage as an American, I took deeply to heart the many stories of my Irish immigrant family's literally life and death struggles to become loyal and accepted American citizens in the not-too-distant past era of "Irish Need Not Apply" signs throughout WASP dominated America. My mother had to spend every chilly to frozen day of her childhood years in Philadelphia gathering enough discarded newspapers with the help of her three brothers so that their widowed Mom and they could stuff their clothing with them to ward off dying from hypothermia while sleeping. The other half of my DNA comes from Italian immigrant grandparents, who had to learn working class skills to survive here in the USA, even though my Italian grandfather was an advanced student of music and an operatic orchestra conductor back home in Castel di Sangro in the Abbruzi Mountains above the city of Rome. He became a tailor while my grandmother took in laundry in order to help their American-born children survive their familial poverty created by equally ignominious "Italians Need Not Apply" signs even way before The Great Depression threatened their very lives. To think that the ever-so-privileged elitist inherited wealth miscreant now squatting in the Oval Office and "its" criminal cabal of sycophants and misanthropes want to, 100 years later, reconstitute that hateful climate here in the vastly and innumerably immigrant enriched American Melting Pot is tear provoking to the point of chest heaving sobs of grief! Thanks, Conan, for doing your immigrant ancestors the honor of making Mexicans, both south and north of our southern American border, into the real life fellow human beings in all of their complexity that they always have been!
@jessi14944 жыл бұрын
Such a beautiful and heartfelt message you wrote. We need more people like you in the world. Also it's so wonderful how much you know of your family history. It's important that we don't forget where we come from and what our family has done to allow us to have our current opportunities.

What a proffesionalism of Conan to handle this section with such grace and patient to this (personally), ignorant chef. (To Americans It's irrespectfull to say them 'gringo') As a Mexican I don't like Aquiles, there are more qualified mexican chefs with more experience and interesting careers than Aquiles. I know him because of a show in Televisa in which he used to cook. But he is not that talented since he doesn't have the experience of many other chefs that are very well known internationally and that have been recognized as well... It's not Conan fault, it is obvious the people of Televisa put or recommended Aquiles (since he works for Televisa and has a show with them) Televisa obviously took vantage of Conan's show to do their own promo, not only with Aquiles but with the stand up people as well. (To help raise up the ratings of their shows) Because again, we also have more qualified people to do stand ups. Unlike the girl I saw in the opening, they do have more experience to do it gracefully. And I'm 29 kind of the same age, I should have laugh in these jokes but I didn't because she was not entertaining. But Conan is a pro, and he knows what he is doing, I only was kind of dissappinted that such popular show had only 'recomended' people, when they could have got more professional people. Personally, I blame Televisa. Even the backgrounds didn't have the same concept of the original show, I didn't understand why having a lot of purple everywhere since Conan's has like a more superb and serious background. The background Televisa provided was not what I was expecting for this show. But overall Conan was excellent as always, we love Conan.
