He’s so self deprecating when he says that there are so many people “rooting for this not to go well”, but in reality he’s one of the most beloved public figures of the past 30 years. Pretty much everyone is glad that he’s hosting the Oscars, I haven’t seen a single negative reaction online about him hosting. Everyone loves Conan.

When Conan was made host of the Tonight Show I can remember feeling a "Yeah!! We won!" vicarious victory kinda vibe at home. For the Oscars, it's more like a "Yeah!! It's only one night!" Similar levels of relief and satisfaction for both though, really. I look forward to watching lol.
