Hummus on pizza actually tastes great. I work in a kitchen that feeds a daycare and we add a thin layer of hummus on the dough followed by sauce and cheese. It's a good way to sneak some extra protein into the children's lunch.

@@GodheadNee The hummus is not crunchy at all and mixes a little when you spread on the pizza sauce. We use frozen pre-made crusts and thaw them before adding toppings so it might be different with freshly made dough. The trick is to keep the layer of hummus thin; too much and it gets messy when cutting.

In the days of my youth, for around 10 years, I worked for 4 different pizza chains., Ate pizza every day for YEARS. I still eat pizza two or three times a week 50 years later. Pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms and green olives is my dream pizza. I do crave a nice Hawaiian a couple times a month as a dessert pizza. Sorry, I'm from, originally, Ontario where it was invented.

You clearly don't put hummus on pizza BUT, hummus is made of chickpeas, and you can put farinata (or faina, as is called in Genoa and Argentina and Uruguay) on top of pizza. Farinata is made with chickpea flour. So, Conan is not that wrong, actually. That's a point for Conan (as always).

One of the best pizzas i ever had was at a barcade during a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme night 6 or 7 years ago. They had several pizzas based off of random toppings Michaelangelo had mentioned from the original animated series, like pepperoni & jelly beans, and mushrooms & coconut. I honestly can't remember what exactly they were cause the one i got was bananas and anchovies. Anchovies are already an acquired taste on pizza, i know and understand that, but the sweetness of the oven roasted bananas and the saltiness of the anchovies together was mind blowing!!
