The chemistry between Conan and Aubrey is pure gold. This is how you interview Aubrey Plaza, you have to roll with the awkwardness and try not to control the conversation. Just go with the flow.
@thesprawl2361

Is she actually that interesting? I keep watching her in interviews and every time there's this awkward atmosphere that people interpret as her being mysterious and enigmatic. But it could just be that she's not that interesting. Either that or she's just intensely private and doesn't want to let in anyone but those closest to her. I'm leaning more in that direction but at the same time I've yet to see her say or do anything interesting outside of her acting performances.

God I love Aubrey and Conan's chemistry. Several others have done well with her but I think no one in the hosting field has had the level of mutual comedic and personal understanding with her that Conan does. The video clips cut off some lines and reactions, the whole podcast was really good. They play off each other so well in general over the years that I think their dynamic is one for the books.

This was funny but it’s hard to ignore that there seemed to be some real pain here too. The way she’s massaging her neck, it looks like she’s actually stressed. The way she says “I don’t know” and “I’m not going to talk about that” often, it seems like she’s actually uncomfortable. @carpediemearth
@carpediemearth 4 ай бұрын
She's literally nothing like April in real life 😂 Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt both said that. Her breaking character in the Parks and Rec bloopers alone shows you that, as do videos where she's not doing dry humored-comedic bits. Watch her on Conan's podcast. Even in funny videos like her Hot Ones episode and the Vanity Fair lie detector test where's she's having fun with a friend, it's obvious she's not like April. Aubrey helped create April and her role in the story, and she based much of the character's personality on her younger sister. Here's what Chris Pratt said years ago in a panel with Amy: "Aubrey's 'on' a lot of the time. She's like Andy Kaufman or something. She would meet the president and take it as an opportunity to do a bit. For the lucky few people who get a chance to know her, she's totally different than April ... she's very caring and sweet, and a good listener, and would be there for her friends in a heartbeat." And Amy Poehler replied "Yes, hear hear."

I don't know any of these people, just the little i see on KZbin, but it seemed Aubrey was jokingly serious and Conan made jokes to make sure it didn't get serious about therapy. Missed opportunity to lead/guide/help a younger person in the business. I think?🤔 I'm 60 and I'm always looking to improve my mental health, so I think I get Aubrey. Edit: quick memory note. I remember watching Craig Ferguson quickly changing direction when it seemed a young guest was seeking advice in a haphazard way. They turned into to some awesome tv and interviews in my opinion.
