You know how funny this man is to still make you laugh at a fake fart when he's just showed you the fart machine? It's like a magician showing you how he did the trick but you're still amazed. Absolute legend.

Indeed. That was great.

an old wise man once told me that if you dont grow up till you're 50, you dont have to. that man was a big fan of Leslie Nielsen, and knew him in person. and the man that told him this, was in fact ALSO Leslie Nielsen. a living treasure that left behind a legacy of nothing but pure fun and positivity. an inspiration for all.

Both Conan and Letterman seemed to HATE it when Leslie brought the fart machine on their shows. I'm impressed with how Leslie positively dealt with their pompous attitudes.

Part of the bit is someone more straight laced next to the goof ball.
@AsukasButler11 ай бұрын
@@bloop1980 Yes, but then he didn't get the insensitivity course joke, and said he should go back to the fart machine. Conan is, and has always been an insecure douche.

Is my impression or Conan didn't allow things going "out of control" so much in his early years? Now *he is* the most uncontrolled thing on his show lol (and I love it)

He probably spent every episode terrified that he would be canceled, and have to go back to fetching coffee backstage at Saturday Night Live.
@SmallSpoonBrigade2 жыл бұрын
@@lanceturley7745 That's probably a lot of it. He also didn't have a grip on the audience the way that he does now. At that point he'd only been on the air for a few months and was still building an audience. By the time I started watching him a few years later, he had a large enough audience that he knew where the line was in terms of audience support. He also had enough of these awkward exchanges to know how to work with it.

Forbidden Planet is great as well. Leslie Nielsen plays a serious role in that and does a great job!

The best part of that? He was already bringing his fart machine to sets at that point, along with all the other non-comedy films he made (and all the comedies, too). Even during his days as a “serious” leading man, he was already a master of goofball comedy. :)
