The crazier thing is most people who arm up to their teeth live in areas where nothing ever happens. I've been CC'ing since the late 80's. I've been OPEN Carrying since the 'Virus of Unknown Origins' decided to arrive in the U.S. of A. (And all our wonderful Tax Payer funded PARASITES closed their offices (While of course, THEY never suffered a loss of a PENNY out of THEIR paychecks), and I couldn't renew my CCP. I then decided I was never again PAYING for a Right, so...). I've had this conversation hundreds of times, and the points you made/make are 100% valid. Anyone not comfortable with 'Keeping AND BEARING arms' for THEIR self defense/preservation, and that of their loved ones/friends/fellow citizenry, doesn't have to. They are not required to do so. For all the rest of us, who know the world is an often deadly place to be, it's a no-brainer.

I carry for the same reasons that you stated. Before we had concealed carry permits, I carried pepper spray (for the same reasons) and I still do in addition to the handgun. i also have smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, and fire extinguishers in my house. Because i don't want to face the consequences of not having them. But I have to wonder about somebody who calls themselves "Rider on the White Horse." It immediately implies the type of personality that I'd have great difficulty taking advice from. Sure, I'd listen to them (for chuckles afterwards), but that name implies a huge lack of self doubt and I've learned over a long life that having self doubt is as important as using seat belts, having smoke detectors, and consistently carrying.

I’m glad that I come across your video. You expressed my feelings about this topic better than I could. Thank you for that. I’m new to CC and I did liked it better when the world that we live in wasn’t so evil and law enforcement worked towards locking up evil people. That isn’t the case anymore so like you, I have come to realize that I may have to protect myself, loved ones, and others who go about their lives in peace that MAY cross my path in need of protection. I am a CCP holder, visit the range frequently to keep skill level where it should be, and carry everywhere I go. I constantly have gun safety in my mind. It seems that it never goes to rest. Your commentary on carrying is the very best and most inspirational I’ve seen, and I’ve watched 1,000s of KZbin videos. The level of evil today is incomprehensible. Prepared self-defense is a must. Carrying a firearm in public is a significant paradigm shift in reality and requires a careful understanding of that reality. When I’m with a friend that is carrying I feel much safer from potential evil. When I’m not carrying my mental radar is on. 1 Corinthians 10:32 should be read by every American.

So I got ducked! I'm parked at the store & dude gets out of a jeep & walks my way. He has a cellphnoe in his hands & was filming my jeep. I had just got in my jeep & my central console was open with my second pistol inside. He continued to walk around me filiming. I was concerned, dude was acting weird. Then he's at my driver window & I didn't want to roll down the window to talk to him. Then he shows me the duck. It's a tradition that if ya see someone with a jeep you like ya give them a duck. So when I saw the duck I knew what was up! & we chatted. His behavior was weird but not a threat, so I didn't even reach for that pistol! I'm not paranoid cause not everyones a threat!

I have had a CCP for over 35 years and during that time have never needed the weapon although a few times was glad I had it as there were people that made things feel a bit sketchy. My reason for wanting the weapon is I never want to be in a situation of being the victim without reasonable options to avoid that outcome. Now as a senior with health issues by certain segments of the population I may well be viewed as a weaker more frail member of our society that would be an easier target to take advantage of. With my health issues I cannot physically fight or defend myself nor can I easily flee a threat but I can even the playing field quite a bit as a last resort with my concealed carry piece. I was raised that we are responsible for our own actions and we are also responsible for our own needs and well being and defending myself if the situation calls for it is part of that responsibility. So many today seem to think otherwise and they have no responsibility for themselves or their own actions including protecting themselves if need be. I am determined to never fall into that sector of our population and a concealed weapon makes that a much more likely task that I can accomplish as compared to not having such weapon available.

I have never seen your videos, KZbin has put this on my you may like this section. I like your explanation and I’m subscribing. Anyway, I’m 70 years old and I born and raised in California, my parents were of the left side of the tracks and were terrified of a lot. I joined the Army against my parents wishes. In the Army I learned that weapons of all kinds aren’t something to fear, they as you said are tools. As I have been carrying everyday and I don’t think about it. I also don’t carry a full sized firearm because I’m not looking for trouble and with my small frame it’s cumbersome. Like you I carry for me, my wife who has medical issues, and others if need be. Now if everyone magically became peace loving and pacifists I’d stop carrying, but that won’t happen until Christ returns.

I am 64 with several disabilities. I no longer can defend myself- at all. I cannot run or even walk fast. I realized after a group of loud young people purposely began heading to me in a parking lot one day. I quickly turned around and raced to my vehicle as they surrounded my car laughing. I drove away. I am a target now. I will not be a victim.

You answered him very well. And it was a good question, one that I have even heard in my own family. my answer personally is that it is true - I never anticipate having to use my weapon. Especially in the environment I live, relatively rural, pretty good people... But. And it's a big but -. I have had three close calls that turned out to be nothing unmanageable, but could have instantly turned deadly. Two involved me being approached quickly by someone asking for money, while my children were in the car, and one was me out alone when somebody decided to cross the street in a rather threatening way and sped up coming at me. I did not have to draw my firearm on any of them, but on one of the car approaches, and with the guy coming at me, I did have my hand under my jacket on the grip. I know in the case of the guy walking at me, he saw that and it changed his mind without a word said. I was able to deescalate each of the situations, But the truth is, evil is rampant now especially, and with drugs and what I think are evil spirits getting into people, we are living in times like we have never seen. Especially with my children, I will do what I must to protect.them, and me, without hesitation. That's why I carry all the time everywhere. God bless you my friend

Very well spoken and articulated. I carry all my tools not just for myself or my family but to render assistance to others or to protect those that I may be around at any given time. I rarely have any trouble with other people, but that is only one reason to carry, there are many violent people in this country and if I can make any difference at all without also resorting to violence then I will always choose to de-escalate the situation if viable or because I open carry my pistol, because it's too big to conceal for the most part (Colt 1860 Army) maybe the evildoers in question will see that I'm armed and reconsider. Or maybe they'll shoot me first, so I stay vigilant at all times but am always civil, considerate and I get asked almost without exception, every time I go out somewhere about my Colt because it is a very beautiful gun IMO and I always consider myself a 2nd amendment ambassador so I have nothing but positive interactions thus far to report thankfully. I am also a convicted felon so my choice of arm should be obvious regarding this comment and I do not wish to return to prison so I carry what I can legally and I have become a much more proficient handgunner as a result of my experience with cap-and-ball revolvers so there is an upside. As an African American I can relate to that comment. I do not bother anyone...but because of my skin color I live a horrible life when I step out of my house. I am completely happy that I am able to carry my tool of protection. Do I want to live a horrible life? NO!! But because we have a race of people that wanna inflict their warped beliefs on everyone else, i am left with no alternative. So yes this is a horrible life bcuz of the privledged society that exist. I think you are generalizing when you say "a race of people". Don't get me wrong, racism is alive and well in America, but not just from one ethnic group to another. It is alive from all groups to other groups. I grew up in New York and the stuff the media is pushing down peoples throats right now is just a lie. Again, I know racism exists and it always will, but America is not the way it is portrayed in the media. The government controls the media and the media is told to divide the people. Sad but true. The only race that I see that wants to "inflict their warped beliefs on everyone else" is the "politically elite race". I carry everywhere when able, it’s a tool Better to have and not need then to need and not have. Same w seat belts. I got in a head on. A few years ago. Thank goodness for seatbelts. And air bags. I carry a tire flat kit also, and AAA towing. We lock our doors at night just in case. Right? And on and on

My gun is for my self protection and my loved ones only. I will not try to save a stranger because our country is too antigun and I'm not going to jail for doing the right moral thing by saving a stranger from a deadly threat. Back in the day I would have but not today. The good person ends up going to jail. If I'm out in public and I see a stranger being threatened I'll call 911.

I do not conceal carry, but keep one in the car. However, I do carry openly when I'm alone out exploring in the wilderness. There are things out there that are out to get you. For the most part we are relatively safe out in the wild if we be watchful and careful, but every now and then one runs across an aggressive animal that's the exception. Most feral hogs, coyotes, and smaller bears do avoid humans, but like I said every now and then one gets brave and attacks. My gun is used in defense of an imminent attack, not for sport or offensive force. Just to make it clear.

Carrying a concealed firearm is simply a tool that will at least gives you a chance to survive a deadly attack in case you find yourself among the small statistic of people who find themselves as victims of violent crime. It might help prevent you from becoming the even smaller statistic of people who did not survive. Thats all. Being prepared does not make you paranoid.

As the Word of God says “As much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men “. I do that. Not all men believe that and evil men will try to hurt you. That’s how they think. That’s their source of money for their drug habits. It’s my responsibility to protect my life and also the lives I love, when I’m with them. Our society is becoming more lawless every day. Everyone can see the news reports. Police officers are leaving the force. Many officers are retiring early. Why ? Because of the increasing lack of justice being served. More predators are out roaming around and looking for their easy prey. I would never advertise that you are carrying, BUT, I will not be a victim because I couldn’t protect myself. Imagine: you or one of your loved ones getting seriously injured by a robber. Then, the rest of your life regretting the fact that you were a helpless, weapon less victim at the time of the assault.
