I am so relieved to hear I'm not the only one that has problems with the maybelline age rewind . I've tried it many times, bought different colors, tried different methods, it always ages my skin and made me look much older than I was at the time. I was reconsidering trying it again since I turned 50 this year but you just validated my feelings and I will not waste my money. I will try one of your other recommendations! Thank you!!

I too could NEVER make the maybelline rewind work for me! THANK YOU for this....as I thought it was me, but finally accepted that after repurchasing an embarrassing amount of time to try to make it work. Also, Thank you for a very nice and thorough video of lesser expensive concealers that I’ve been wondering about. I listened all the way through because you have a lovely persona and naturally gracious, soothing voice. I say this because voices sometimes bug me. (and I love young people but their singsong, self-absorbed tone is hard to take. ) You are very easy to listen to and learn from. Thank you! Oh, and I am stuck because looking shiney doesn’t work on my angular face, but I need lots of coverage just under the eyes. Usually end up kinda chalky if fully covered…..but feel sad and tired when the darkness shows. 😣

Thank you for this! I'm about to turn 50, and I just tried both the Instant Age Rewind and Elf Hydrating Camo in the past couple of weeks (after hearing all about how great they are), and neither of them works for me. I've also tried Wet n Wild Incognito (good coverage and doesn't crease, but drying) and L'Oreal Age Perfect (too dewy and always creases). So I'll trust your recommendations and give them a try!

OMG, we are exactly the same. I'm 53 and have been lucky enough to make it this far before needing concealer. It was new to me and took me a long time to figure out what works. I thought something was wrong with me cuz I hated the Maybelline Age Rewind. I finally tried the Kosas on Amanda Z's recommendation and hit a home run. My holy grail. Self setting, no powder needed.

Hi new friend to your channel. I am 43yrs old and I have been blessed with great genes from my mother who is the age as you. She looks amazing and I’ve been grateful to not had many fine lines and wrinkles but sadly back in nov 2020 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and had to do 14 rounds of chemo and it’s totally ruined my skin and my youthful appearance so I’m on the hunt for beauty products to help me conceal those reminders of that awful medication plus my aging. Great video Tamara… I too have such problems finding a great concealer. But…I do like that Neutrogena . Have used it for a few months now and keep going back to it . If I don’t get that concealer right I feel it just ruins whatever I have done with my eyes . Thanks for going the extra mile in trying to find the right concealer for us more mature women. I don’t use anything under my eyes, but highly recommend the NYX color corrector for age spots. It comes in a set of 4 colors and the orange one is amazing. Thanks for the concealer recommendations

I enjoyed this video even though I’ve given up on trying concealers. I’ve tried so many and they all go into my lines. I have hollows under my eyes. Now I just use a tinted sunscreen and put vanicream lip protectant spf over it to brighten.

I saw your video on the recommendations page and even though I’m ONLY 53 years of age 🥰 I was curious as I don’t wear anything on my face (just eye make up and lips) because I never learned to use foundation or concealers and never felt confident about laying on someone’s chest or hugs or my own clothes. HOWEVER, you were so engaging, well spoken, gorgeous of course, but with a beauty that doesn’t look fake, a naturally beautiful face well taken care of that I watched the whole thing even though I would probably not buy the stuff because then I fall into the rabbit hole of pursuing the perfect one. I was on the hunt for a good concealer for mature skin and as you say, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind had such great reviews that I bought it. But, like you I can't get it to look good under my eyes either. Not happy with it at all and thought, like you, that it was just me. So glad to see others are in the same boat. So, now I'm back looking for a great replacement.

Wrinkles around the eyes, mouth are my worst areas. Most concealers settle down in those wrinkles, makes me crazy, even my foundation settles in the wrinkles. Powder sometimes helps, but after a while it starts to look dry and cakey. The Neutrogena one intrigued me.

Yay! Glad you found my channel! This video is a couple of years old. Update on the Kosas... I still enjoy the Kosas...but found that because it is "clean" with no preservaties it tends to go off within a year or so of opening. I try SO many concealers I just can't use it up fast enough, so if I buy it again I will purchase a mini. I do have a more recent roundup which I will link here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5ndaKCnbdyKa9Usi=Hs7gBxasT1A8Rh75 My current favorite concealers that I am rotating through are Lancome Teinte Idol Ultra Long Wear Concealer in the shade 215 Buff, the Tower 28 shade ktown, Natasha Denona shade 4N (both of those shades are atad deep for me in the winter but perfect for summer). The Concealer I am wearing the most right now is the Physician's Formula Butter Glow Concealer shade Lt/Med...It lives in my purse! Hope this helps!

Hi Tamara, one of my favorite topics! I'm always on the lookout👀 But I'm content for now with 2 I've used for awhile. Nars Radiant Conc.in Ginger. Also, the Effacernes Waterproof concealer by Lancome. Someone else mentioned it. You don't need powder with that one thats why I like it. I've used Kat Von D. Conc.as an eyeshadow primer. My issue has always been my olive skin tone. Very tricky to match. I can't tell you how many I've returned. I've heard good things about Kosas. Thanks again see ya next wk😉🙋‍♀️

I'm in my mid-40's and while everyone I know absolutely loves the e.l.f. camo concealers (particularly the hydrating one) they just do not work for me! Like you, I've been feeling a little bit crazy because everyone else seems to love them so much. I agree that it works fine on my face (though I have other formulas that I think work better to address my discoloration issues - I'm very fair with rosacea) but it looks TERRIBLE under my eyes. So thanks for making me feel like I'm not crazy or alone in not loving it! It's true though - everyone's skin and needs and tastes are so different, it's hard to have something that works universally for everyone. One of my favorites is the Flower Beauty Light Illusion concealer. It does have great coverage but the formula is so lightweight and blendable and it doesn't seem to sink into my fine lines or creases at all. I just think it looks lovely on the skin and has that satin finish you were speaking about - not super matte, not super glowy, it just looks beautiful. You might want to check it out. My current favorite concealer is by Rituel de Fille. Yes, it’s is pricey but the tiniest bit goes a long way. (I’ve had it over 3 months and barely made a dent). It’s creamy, blends beautifully, and clean ingredients. I’m 49 years old with some under eye darkness, fine lines and dryness. I purchased mine from Amazon after watching many reviews, and ended up loving it. Another one that’s really good is by First Aid Beauty. It’s lightweight, creamy and blends beautifully.

I couldn’t get the Maybelline Age Rewind to work either! My needs are different, I need full coverage with a yellow tint. I find that you either have to pick full coverage with more wrinkles, or hydration with not enough coverage. The best for me is the J Cat Beauty in Buff. It’s the right combination of coverage and hydration for me.

I have crepey undereyes and I just found a Saie concealer with medium coverage that feels just like an eye serum! I love it! No powder for me either, I just lightly tap under my eyes throughout the day to keep it at bay but I very rarely need to. My undereyes feel and look so hydrated without looking greasy. Try the Saie!

Top of the morning! I agree about the ELF concealer for use as a general concealer. My faves are Tarte and Kosas. I bought the Kosas because of the ingredients in it as I need all the hydration I can get. The associate who was helping me at Sephora recommended the lightest color (01) for me. At first I thought it was way too light but now I see it works to brighten up the undereye area. I'm going to try the neutrogena next. Love your top and earrings...

Hi Tamara, I’m with you as I could never use the Maybelline Instant Age concealer. It made me look like the crypt keeper! I had wrinkles I never knew I had. It was horrible. Now I enjoy Tarte’s Ultra Creamy hydrating concealer. It’s the best one I have ever found for me. I also like Clinique’s even better all over concealer and eraser. Those two are both really nice! Concealers are challenging! I do not like to use a setting powder under my eyes either. Even a high quality of powder with super delicate application, the powder just emphasizes my crepey skin. I have 2 of the Age Rewind, an ivory and the brightener. The brightener alone doesn’t do much, but if I combine with the ivory it is better. I tried the L’Oréal Age Perfect but for some reason it makes my eyes puffy every time I try it! Kimberly wishes the Neutrogena came in a lighter shade and I am pretty fair so will pass until they do. I think I will try the Maybelline Fit Me since they have a wide shade range. Thanks for the reviews - very helpful!

I agree I cannot use Maybelline age rewind or Elf camo. I'm using elf camo for the lid and it works nicely. I am loving Charlotte Tilbury corrector with Bare Minerals mineral concealer with Pat McGrath under eye powder and the combo of the 3 of them is working well. For your viewers I am 60. There is lies the challenge for sure… for me a peach color corrector has been the biggest game changer of all. Sometimes I don’t even use a concealer over it at all. But a super light layer of concealer looks nice over a corrector too. ❤️

Last year I really hated the Age Rewind and thought it was terrible. Then I thought I’d try it again. I think I had put too much on. Now I dab the applicator on the back of my hand and apply very little with a brush. I let it dry down for a few seconds then tap to blend. It’s one of the few concealers I’ve tried that can smooth out the hollows under my eyes. I also like Maybelline’s Fit Me and Superstay concealers. I like the price of the ELF but not sure I like the product! Still trying to find my holy grail. I haven’t tried the Kosas but I think it’s just too yellow for me. Amanda Z has a great channel for dry skin. She’s such a natural beauty. I’ve given up trying to completely cover dark circles. Mine are REALLY dark, no matter what I use: color corrector…full coverage concealer, they still show through. My goal now is to just decrease their impact and brighten the under eye and inner corner. Last year I also tried the Neutregena Hydroboost and thought it was too cakey. Maybe I just put too much on again trying to completely cover my dark circles. Since both you and Kimberly highly recommend it, I’m gonna give it another go!

Great review! Thank you. I may try the neutrogena. I hated the Maybelline age rewind, and I think I know why. Those of us that have the crepiness and texture don't like how it accentuates that, but it must work great for people who only have darkness and fine lines. I also use a peach color corrector first in the purple area. When I 1st bought the Maybelline fit me, I thought I was going to love it but my tube got thick very quickly. I didn't want a concealer that was so pasty. Right now I've been enjoying the Milani conceal and perfect, but I may give your suggestions a try next. The milani I have been using lately isn't the correct color for me now, so I've been using powder over it to try to help that issue. I do love the tiniest dusting of the Maybelline fit me powder over my concealer to set it.

Cheers to another great video. I agree that less is better with my concealer and also prefer lighter coverage. My current favorite is L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Radiant Concealer in Cream Beige.

I’m one who doesn’t like the Maybelline concealers but I do use the brightener that is a little pink on my eyelids as they are very dark. It helps with my eye shadow looking decent. Using the concealer under my eyes doesn’t work at all. My skin is just too dry. I will be trying the Neutrogena. Thank you for this video.

The ELF one was too much for me too. The new Thrive Causemetics concealer is supposed to be as good as the Kosas. I want to try both.

Great review Tamara! I actually don't mind the Age Rewind but the Fit just doesn't have enough coverage for me. I wish I could get Neutrogena makeup here, all we have is the skincare products. My favorites are NYX Born to Glow concealer, very hydrating and also Elizabeth Arden Ceramide concealer, one of the best concealers I've tried, has very minimal creasing. Hi Tamara I just prefilmed my top 5 concealer video last year and I can assure you the Maybelline instant age rewind is not there. I used to like it But is not a holy grail. So I agree with you and Lisa Monique. What an adventure wirh getting the Kosas concealer. I hate yellow ones.By the way you look gorgeous today !💕

I have a concealer that was recommended by emily Noel a few years back I believe. I have an almost concealer in the shade 100 , light or fair shade, and it’s the same shade as the neutrogena concealer hydro boost !! The difference is e hydra boost is more moisturizing but they’re both good and last very well, on me at least

At the onset of your video, I could see a difference between your right and left eye. The Kosas Revealer is the better of the two. I think I may try it.

Ok I thought I was 58 but turns out I’m almost 60..haha. I only ever used eyeliner and maybe a little lipstick if I was going out. I started trying makeup and now own elf concealer and color corrector but it doesn’t work at all, meaning I still look like I have black eyes in the corners snd it looks fake and cracked even if I use a teeny amount. I only use products that are vegan and cruelty free. Most of the people on utube are very young with perfect skin. You have perfect skin which I aspire to and are put together without looking overdone also. I’m astounded when I watch these videos the sheer amount of product people are using. How can they walk around with that much goop? I’ll look at some of your recommendations. Thank you!

LOL...I've forgotten my age a few times too! sometimes it was a nice surprise to find out I was actually younger, and somtimes a shock to find I was older...My skin is not perfect...but I LOVE skin care and playing with makeup. I'm super happy to have you here...and Happy Almost Birthday. Our 60s can be fabulous!

You should try tarte crease less concealer, it's not dry like shape tape. I'm almost 40 but have very dry skin an worse under my eyes. I also have never been able to use powder until I found Charlotte Tilburys airbrush flawless finish power, my skin literally looks flawless everyday, the powder is so fine that it's perfect for aging skin. I also could never find a foundation that didn't make me look crappy an dry until I found Charlotte Tilburys airbrush flawless foundation. Her stuff is overly priced but I think the reason her stuff works so well is cause she's older also. Great video, thank you 🤗

I love the Kosas concealer and bought it (and reviewed it) when it first came out. Like you, I found it far too yellow. Then, several months ago they came out with non-yellow shades and I bought another. Sadly - I find my skin tone lies in the middle of their offerings - so while the undertone is great now - it's a tad too light. But it's really lovely and I find the Clinique Even Better is very similar (and has more shades to choose from)!

My favourite concealers are L’Oreal Age Perfect concealer and Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. The L’Oreal Age Perfect is quite thin and light and I swipe on (a tiny bit) let it sit for a couple of minutes and then blend it with a mini-beautyblender (dry but sprayed with setting spray). I do not set with powder. I am 60 and this routine works for my undereyes.

Hi Tamara, I am so tempted to try your top 3 concealers but most likely won’t be able to wear them. I am 70, so at this point I don’t think any will work for me. I am so pleased with my Garnier roller ball that I just better quit while I am ahead. The concealers look great on you but 7 more years can make a difference. But if you would like additional coverage...I would say either the Maybelline Fit me or the Neutragenia...they are quite light weight...the Neutragenia is a better multi talker as it can be used on facial spots as well. I like the IT bye bye and the maybelline pro concealer corrector in medium. The yellow counteracts the discoloration. No caking problem.

I am in the same boat with you on the maybelline instant age rewind it made my under eyes look absolutely terrible just old and dry and crepey. I recently bought a mini nars radiant creamy concealer and it works pretty good. I’m gonna give that neutrogena a try I’ve watched Kimberley rave about it lately. Thanks for sharing❤️

I can’t get the Maybelline Age Rewind to work me either. I too have tried different colors and even with all the high-rating I finally gave up. BUT I have to say it does makes a great eyeshadow primer!

I had to toss my Maybelline Age Rewind as it only accentuated all the wrinkles under my 68 year old eyes and looked awful no matter what I tried. I do have the brightener160 which does help a bit with dark circles and for some odd reason does apply better for me. Thank you for the review I will be trying some of the ones you liked to see if they work for me. I have toyed with the idea of creating my own blend using concealer and perhaps foundation w/ lotion. Someday I might. Just catching up with all my favorite KZbinr's - been on vacation for the first time in over a year.

Yay a vacation!! I am heading to Upstate NY to visit my cousin in July...can't wait for an actual vacation!! Also, for concealing...a game changer for me has been using a corrector first...just on the darkest blue areas...this way you need much less concealer. Let me know how your custom mix turns out!

Enjoy your trip, that is a lovely area of New York. I just ordered the Neutrogena concealer. I have tried the Pixie corrector but it was too dry for my undereye area and sadly left me looking odd. I have been using one by Elf in a light peach tone with a bit better result. It takes a lot of playing around when it comes to wrinkles, bags, dark circles and all the rest. The only dry areas on my face are under my eyes.

I love my IT Cosmetics concealer and Bobbi Brown full coverage one. They are both waxy formulas that need no powder and can easily be tapped out during the day with the warmth of your finger. I learned this from Wayne Goss and he was absolutely correct. I do need to try that stick concealer and would be perfect for traveling.
