You have such beautiful skin! I’ve been using this technique for a while now and I use my sponge as well at the end but I add one extra step. Once I have finished buffing with the brush and pressing with my sponge as a last step I take my hands and press them into my face. I saw someone on KZbin do this years ago - can’t remember for the life of me who it was but Ive been doing it ever since. I've been using this Wayne technique for a while now and also have been adding a bit of liquid blush into the mix in the palm of my hand. This really gives a nice sun kissed look to your face...not too much blush though.

This is the first I have seen this technique, and I am very impressed. Your skin is flawless, Tamara. I will definitely give this a try. Back in the day (late 80s ) I always wore Clinique Continuous Coverage foundation. I would buy two or three shades, and colored matched my skin all year long. I have been using this Wayne Goss technique for a few months now and it’s absolutely changed how my foundation looks. In the video I saw, he puts the foundation in his palm and then then fills the brush with the foundation. You can go overboard though. Start with one pump and you may be able to do your entire face. I do more round buffing than anything and it really helps with texture. One thing to note, if using this technique, you really do need to clean your brushes more often. Thank you for the video. Yes, "priming" the foundation brush works so much better at giving a more natural look to mature skin. Ive also discovered a concealer technique on IG. The gal "primed" her concealer with her finger and tapped on her undereyes. It looks so much better and more natural than using a brush . But I do use Ilia serum concealer which is thinner

I pump out one or two shades If needed right onto my granite counter top and swirl it with my finger then soak it up in my brush then tap tap tap stipple stipple and blend it in with the beauty sponge . I love mixology! One of my favorite combos is if I want to add a touch more coverage to my sheer to light skin tints...I'll add just one drop of the Rituel de Fille Weightless 3 drop serum foundation. Have fun!

Have you tried the new ELF Soft Glam Satin foundation. It has great coverage, a really pretty soft matte finish and is quite long lasting. I did a review on it a month or so ago. Also, I have heard great things about the Haus Labs foundation...sounds like it is fuller coverage and long lasting. With a natural satin finish. Also, setting sprays can really help with longevity. My favorite is Charlotte Tillbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. Sephora has it in a mini size so you can try it before committing to the full size. You might want to check out reviews from Risa Does Makeup and Stephanie Marie...they both have combo/oily mature skin so tend to go for more matte, long lasting formulas.

Hi Tamara, I watched Wayne Goss do this method several months ago and have been using this method since and WOW! Isn’t it amazing! Great tips Tamara. How long do you wait after skincare is done before applying your makeup, and what do you use under your eyes? My under eyes are dry and peeling and no matter which concealer I use, it clings to dry patches making my under eyes look horrible. Yay! I'm so happy to hear this technique works for you too! I usually wait at least 10 minutes after my SPF before going in with makeup. It depends on the SPF...often I will do stuff around the house or blow dry my hair while I wait. As far as undereyes....have you tried eye creams before makeup? Or at night? Or maybe even a dab of oil? Recently I've been using Clarins Total Eye Lift Eye cream at night, and sometime during the day as well. I picked it up 50% off during the Ulta sale...It's very nice, but I probably wouldn't pay full price. I've used Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Cream and DRMTLGY makes several nice eye creams as well. Hope this helps!

Yes, I use a hydrating under eye moisturizer and also have been applying a tiny dot of Almond oil under my eyes( inner corner trough and wait for it to absorb. I’ve been using Dr. Dennis Gross Triple eye serum and it contains Retinal. I know that’s the culprit as I also use it on my upper lids as directed and wow do they peel. I now nee heavier eye cream as temp has really dropped here. I use Tatcha Peony eye cream and Pungkang Yul eye cream which is hydrating but not enough. I’ve been using First Aid Hydrating Recover Cream since peeling started. Thank you I need to try the avocado eye cream.

I’ve noticed since I have gotten older, 69 years old, I prefer lighter coverage in foundation! My skin looks pretty good and many foundations are to matte and emphasize wrinkles. Using Estée Lauder sheer foundation this year but want to try some others. I will try to get the Revlon if I can find a color match! Thank you!

Matte foundations don't work for me either. On a daily basis I do lean more into light coverage skin tints, but there are also so many great foundations out there. The Revlon really is pretty...another fav is Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation. Thanks, Tamara! I sort of do the stipple buff technique with my foundation, but don’t work into the brush all the way as I fear it would absorb too much product. It also may be the difference in brushes as I use the new Rephr foundation brush that Kiki recommended and love it. But, I can definitely see how working concealer into the brush would help me control the application tremendously. It’s an area of struggle for sure.

Yes, the brush does absorb product, but that's part of the reason it applies it so evenly...no blobs to blend out LOL. I still love that Rephr Brush...it works great for my light coverage Hourglass Veil Skin Tint...it actually helps build coverage that I can't get with my fingers.

I just started using Dr Jart skin corrector. I’ve never been one to use primers, but this Dr Jart can almost be used without a foundation. It also has a 15 SPF. You can never have too much SPF on your face.

Loved this and wish I could afford that brush-truth is that I am loath to wash too many brushes because I feel like I need to be thorough and keep rinsing and rinsing till the water is clear and that takes a long time sometimes..

Tools can be expensive, but they last a long time. I hear you about washing brushes...one of my favorite cleansers for synthetic brushes is Dr. Bonners liquid castille soap. Super concentrated and it really cuts through makeup and rinses easily. Most days I use more of a skin tint...which I apply and blend with fingers and a sponge so I don't dirty foundation brushes every day.

Really appreciate seeing the Revlon foundation which you are showing us because I haven’t bought one in a long time and apparently there is quality in this brand.. In fact, I’ve started to wonder if perhaps some drugstore foundations are just as good as others & that the company is smarter for selling them at the price that they do because they will have a lot more takers for instance, the Chanel Tent that I would like to get- but I probably will not.. Price doesn't seem to be a primary indicator in the quality of the foundation. There have been some super high end fails and some super affordable foundations that knock my socks off. All great tips Tamara. Especially as we prepare for, dare I say winter.😮 I've been using a stippling brush for awhile now. Foundation brushes just seem to show the brush strokes more. Working harder to conceal them. I like the look of that concealer brush you used. Your end result was flawless! I saw you with your fellow KZbin buddies. That had to be a lot fun😉. Our autumn weather has been so spectacular that it's hard to imagine winter is right around the corner. Enjoy it while we can! I took the train to Manhattan Saturday and met Beauty by Dez and Cindy from Beyond 50 Skin for lunch....they are both so darling! I took a little footage which I might try to include in a video (I'm terrible at vlogs) But I think Cindy is doing a vlog...I will share her video on my community page. Thank you so much! No filler, but I do light botox in my 11s about every 6 months or so. I had a Moxie/BBL laser about a year ago...It helped with sun spots and gave me a glow. For a while...would like to do that again...or maybe a fraxel.

I think I iisted it? I'll double check...but super simple...a little L"Oreal Infallable Bronzer in the crease and the Cover Girl Clean Eye Color Crayon in the shade 345 Sky Dust on the lid. (described as bronze with light grey undertones). I couldn't find my favorite which is the shade Bronze Glow. which is slightly more golden These are so easy for every day...not SUPER long lasting...but really pretty and they fade gracefully. Ok - when I grew up when concealer went under foundation. What is the reason for putting it over the foundation?

The new theory is no foundation on eyes, just concealer. So foundation lightly applied over face, with just color correction and/or concealer applied to eye area. Thinner is better for aging skin so creasing is minimal. Also, concealer to match skin tone is the current recommendation. Not the white “brightening” halos we used to have. It’s not “one shade lighter” anymore. Techniques change as formulas change too.

For my synthetic brushes and my sponges I use Dr. Bonner's Castille Liquid Soap. It works like a charm! But for my Rephr Natural Hair Brushes I use the bar soap that Rephr sells specifically for their goat hair brushes.

I tend to have sensitive skin. The best exfoliate I have tried is by Dr. Lancer, and it’s part of his - “The Method” and it’s simply called, Polish. I use the one for sensitive dehydrated skin, but there’s also one for normal skin. It is wonderful! It is the only one I have ever used that makes my skin feel great immediately after using it , even before I put my serum and lotion on.

Good question! It depends on the products, your degree of darkness and your preference. There are some days that a peach corrector and foundation are all I need.

This was a great video. However, I noticed that when you put on the skin tint, it made your eyes suddenly very much smaller. Personally, I try not to have any foundation or similar products that close to my last line so that my eyes continue to look bigger. It gets covered by light eye make up anyway.

I don't use filters...but the lighting did change by the end of the video. I use a combination of natural and studio lighting. I have large windows on my left (your right)...and as the sun moves in the afternoon and I get less natural light I have to adjust the studio lighting so it does look a little different. As far as the art...the up lights that I use to highlight the art become more apparent as I lose natural light as well.
