Just love that someone just went viral with something I’ve been doing for 20 years.😂😂 I looked in my car mirror one day and saw that my under eyes looked dry. I didn’t have cream or lotion on me, but saw a lip balm and put it on the under eye and topped it with a little concealer and I’ve used it since in the morning when putting on my makeup. It gives a luminous look. I’m currently using Palmers cocoa butter stick. It really doesn’t matter the brand, but the ones with color like Chap stick cherry don’t work because the color shows some.

Hi Tamara I’m pretty sure they used Vaseline for the same thing in the forties and fifties so it’s not really new, but instead a rediscovered technique 😂. I have used a second layer of rich eyecream for years just before applying concealer to my super dry skin, which is somewhat similar. I apply my skincare as usual and my layer of spf then allow it to set down. When I apply my primer and eye primer I apply a second layer of eyecream under my eyes as a “primer” step and give them a few minutes to sink in before applying the rest of my makeup. This has allowed me to use concealers I would never have been able to use otherwise and a smidge of powder to set it to help avoid creasing. The thick lip balm isn’t really formulated for the eye area, but there are a plethora of balms and creams that are on the market (including sticks if that is the appeal of component). Scott Barnes is a fabulous makeup artist but the general idea of a balm under the eye isn’t his as such. Best wishes x

Thank you so much for this tip! Instead of the lip balm I’m using Neutrogena’s Mineral Ultra Sheer Dry Touch stick (SPF 50). No sting, smooth finish and the benefit of mineral SPF. You always share the best products and tips. ✨💖✨

I saw this on Stephanie Marie’s channel and used my Avene lip balm for this technique. It’s what I have on hand. It worked great and I had much less under eye creasing. Thanks for the side by side. You make great videos. I saw the viral video last week. Immediately ordered the Aquaphor. I am a bit of an ingredient nerd. It has castor oil. Been using straight up castor oil for a month now. I put it on under my Neutrogena sunscreen. It is a wonder ingredient for skin and hair. I have to confess that I got the idea after being bombarded with Jones Road miracle balm commercials. I was really turned off by the fragrance ingredients in their product, which I knew would irritate my skin, but was intrigued by all of the reviews. Miracle Balm has castor oil and other good for the skin natural oils. Thought I would try some castor oil on its own. Castor oil is sticky. I put it on and do some other things while it soaks in. Then I top it with my sunscreen. Then the rest of my make up. Just added in the Scott Barnes’s trick with the Aquaphor. Actually, I’m loving Aquaphor on my lips as well. I bought a two pack one for my eyes and one for my lips. I think it’s a great product. It’s a great product. I do think that the castor is diminishing the look of my many wrinkles.

For all us women over 20, with actual unfiltered crepe skin and wrinkles, getting a youthful and smooth coverage under the eye is such a challenge and it really is so many women’s nemesis! To have a solution that doesn’t involve surgery is a game changer 🙌💃🏼🙌💃🏼🙌💃🏼

I’m not on TikTok and had not heard of the Aquaphor technique but look forward to giving it a go. BTW, I felt the same about powder foundations as you, until I tried Laura Geller powder foundation. I fell for an ad on Instagram and ordered the Baked Balance-n-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation kit in porcelain. I can’t believe how well it covers yet remains sheer. I get a lot of compliments on my skin when I use this foundation. A real game changer for me.

I have seen two other videos about this hack but yours has sealed the deal for me! Yes, definite noticeable difference on the Aquafor side and for more than just the smoothness...for coverage and staying power. I just happen to have a brand new still in its pkg Aquafor lip balm that I bought a few weeks back to use on my dry lips before I started to see videos popping up about this hack. Now I just need to get that Maybelline Powder Foundation to set it, which is something I would never consider using except for this hack because I have dry skin. My worry is I'll love this so much that I'll want to do it everyday but I am also prone to milia here and there once in a while, so, sadly, special occasions only for me too. Thank you for doing this very informative video! Excellent presentation!

According to Dr Idris the biggest derm on KZbin it's not comedogenic nor is vasiline. She did say if you're PRONE to milia keep an eye on itat first sign stop. New milia can usually be gotten rid of. I have only had milia once i by by uhh hi 7 uhn my life at the corner of my eye after a year of retinol it still didn't go away so I removed it myself with the poke of a scalpal and the pimple tool Dr pimple popper uses. I am a medic and am very comfortable with a. Scalpel. Please do not go at ur eye milia with a scalpel it can be incredibly dangerous. So please don't do what I did. My point was I use Vaseline every night (got that one milia before I even started doing a scincare routine other than washing and moisturizer. 🤦♀️) But Dr Idris does this too. And during the day I use the aquaphor every day during winter. And in summer I use the Charlotte tilbury eye magic stuff. The Vaseline at night and aquaphor combo always yield best results for me. I'm 41 and have NEVER been able to get concealer to set smooth till I started the chapstick thing last year. (Fyi my own dermatologist that I see in person is the one who told me about it first bc I commented on her eyes) once I started looking it up I discovered Dr Idris and PROMPTLY became one of her devout "nerds" as she calls us. She does NOW have her own skincare line. But didn't when she started out and she never pushe his it. She realizes most people cant uhh byafford high end skincare and she made the perfect skincare routine for me and my face and my trouble spots for a cost of under $50 TOTAL for everything. So $50 of products for mild rosacea broken capillaries around my nose and dry flaky skin around my nose and inner eyebrows and fine lines on my forehead and once a month 1-3 underskin pimples that appear around my chin and upper lips like clockwork two weeks before that time of the month. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars ladies for beautiful skin at any age. She even went over drugstore products that work BETTER than the expensive ones. And I was an Este lauder advanced night repair fanatic so Este lauder EVERYTHING - $395 of product for two months. It's not financially sustainable. You need to identify the issues your skin has and tailor your products to those alone. And my $50 skincare routine has different morning and night steps cleanser, serum, lightweight water based moisturizer and heavy moisturizer with ceramides for my dry zones and two different vitamin c creams for morning and night. I didn't include the retinol as this is a prescription from my dermatologist that my insurance covers. But my skin has never looked better - @dridris look her up. She's a rockstar. And if she doesn't believe in it she won't recomnent it. And she debunks SOOOO much. For example ditch red light masks- use GREEN LIGHT. Harder tind but penetrates deeper and has best results. And she isn't sponsored by majority of products she recommends. She is determined to prevent dermatologists from gatekeeping info- hands down best. Just look at her face lol Apologies for the Dr Idris promotion. I'm.not her brand ambassador or anything I own none of her products. But she never met me and doesn't know me but saved my face from 40 years of neglect and withing 2 months my skin is amazing. So yes the aquaphor trick works however must be repeated if you are predisposed to millia only use it a couple times a week and not every day/night just to see how ur skin does. Thank you for this video. I absolutely love your style. To many of these influencers still use filters and promote impossible beauty standards. Very few show their actual face and do close ups on their pores and texture. Which inconsider toxic beauty standards. Anyway I'm ranting now. Lol the aquaphor trick does work and vasiline at night. And BUTTPASTE once a week on ur face to restore ur skin barrier. (yes the same BUTTPASTE we use on our babies) it's cheap and keeps barrier so healthy. I love to do my chemical exfoliant every four days and the day after I put on my BUTTPASTE before bed and wake up with ZERO rosacea completely soft and even skin. So that's another hack- use BUTTPASTE. The zinc oxide is the key. Hope this helps. ❤❤❤

I tried it and it was no better than using my Cerave under eye cream! Hot and Sassy tried it and it made her look more creased…

This video is slow and rather retarded, no offense…..one would think watching these repeat active makeup videos that we woman have never done makeup before, when the fact is we’ve been doing makeup since we were 13 yrs old!🤷🏼♀️🙃

Does the aquaphor lip repair work? Or does it have to be the aquaphor stick only?
@karlaharvey26236 ай бұрын
Hi Tamara, Karla here and I must say, your video was the best hands down! I too have very dry and dehydrated skin. I am going to have to get the Aquaphor lip balm and give it a try as no matter how well I prep my under eyes, my Lancôme tint adole concealer ends up clinging to dry skin under my inner eyes. I also use Pixie color corrector from your recommendation over 3 yrs ago. Any suggestions? My under eyes aren’t as bad as they use to be, but still Alan issue for me. At 63 this month, I have really been using medical grade skincare. I also have to purchase DRMTLGY under eye color corrector. Thank you so much for another great video.

Thanks so much for showing us how things looked in various kinds of lighting--very helpful! It seems you didn't use any primer at all, is that correct? I'm interested in trying this hack but generally like to use primer, too. Would the Aquaphor be best applied under or over primer? (Maybe under, like skincare?)

Watch out for the lanolin in Aquaphor. Your skin can become dependent on it if you use it long term. Its often why chapsticks get 'addictive'. Other balms or similar consultancy should do the same thing.

Hi Tamara. Is Aquaphor better than a regular under eye primer?
@sylverista5 ай бұрын
I use aquafor to seal my neck hydrating products it looks like magic especially over 50 when neck skin is very dry … use it under my eyes on regular basis in the evening and it doesn’t provoke milia. The only product that gave me milia is Maybelline waterproof makeup remover … So I tried this aquafor technique with the aquafor classic product not a lip balm and it worked well

FIRST of all, I want to say you are truly beautiful and thank you for sharing this. Next, as a professional formulator, I would like to explain that it is exactly the occlusive nature of the butters and oils contained in this product, (shea butter/sunflower and more), that create the magic. As per your concern about milia....I would use mango butter instead of shea butter in the formulation and blend it with argan, safflower and rosehip seeds with a hint of beeswax and even one drop of helichrysum or chamomile because these ingredients have a very low comedogenic score. Easy to make! And, please skip the dimethcone and TOCOPHERYL ACETATE and all the other non-skin-friendly chemicals in this formulation scoring a 3-5 grade with EWG. You will glow even more.
