Did you know that “Concentration” with Jack Narz is now Buzzr? Yes it is! I hope Buzzr would love to see this episode along with the rest of the Jack Narz era episodes on Buzzr in the future.

The Price Is Right cues on Concentration! Awesome episode of a classic!

Well not to embarass you but it is a Goodson Todman show

Actually, it was the other way around. These cues were done for Concentration first, then a number of them were used by The Price Is Right.

I'm glad that buzzr is airing this show and glad that there's more episodes on KZbin. Jack Narz and Tom Kennedy is the best and great brothers.

I like both Narz's (Concentration) and Trebek's (Classic Concentration) versions, but the bonus round with Trebek is where you actually concentrate. For Narz all you had to do was guess two puzzles in 10 seconds with the entire puzzle revealed, while Trebek you had to match up the cars (7 in 15 squares, 1 was a bogey). Plus with the cars the base time was 35 seconds and that made it exciting (the record for most seconds it got up to was 75), but the main game here with 30 squares makes it interesting.

(Possibly) interesting aside -- Tom O'Connor (the name of one of the contestants here) is also the name of a well-known game show host in the UK, hosting the British versions of (The) Crosswits and Name That Tune; he was lined up for the TVS version of Concentration in the 1980s but ended up doing Crosswits instead :)

Love the bonus numbers and the wild cards.Was the time always 5 seconds to match?The studio looked great,even though it looked like a mall parking garage.Mr.Martindale,you are always a wonder on Tic TAC Dough and your vault of classic game show episodes.Keep up the great work.A legend personified.

Wow. In a lot of ways, this version is as difficult as Jeopardy is now. Trying to decipher those puzzles while being under such strict time to guess and remember where the prizes are must really have been a challenge. The only thing I'd have changed is, if they were going to buzz contestants so quickly before calling out the numbers, then there really should have been a timer (like a shot clock) shown to the audience as well as the players. It seems like the player, once there name had been called by Narz, had like 3-4 seconds tops to call both numbers out.

Thanks for sharing, Wink! It was cool to hear music cues typically associated with TPIR here. I was also thinking about all the prizes won while "Splendido" (aka "Nothing But Furniture") was playing, and that there was no car there...

(4:50) - If I was to bring back "Concentration," I would use the TV-like board with 30 squares (not the 25 from the Trebek "Classic Concentration"), which would be way better than the "blue screen" board from "Classic Concentration". Also, if it is produced by FreeMantle Media, I would incorporate the "Double Over Losing Horns" cue from TPIR when the time runs out in the Double Play bonus round.
@georgemaster99526 жыл бұрын
This show could use a new life.They did that with Match Game and Pyramid two summers ago,so why not this show?

pretty cool version of concentration. a little different than the 1980's version but STILL LIKED It. I wonder how they were able to use the Price is Right Music and Themes on Concentration. I mean, it's that copyrighted?
@3mango8 жыл бұрын
The same reason why they used the double dare theme(Alex trebek not Marc summers) for card sharks(Jim perry)
@jnadle17 жыл бұрын
And also, don't forget that win cue. That was used a lot when The Price is Right offered cars.
@rwboa227 жыл бұрын
Mark Castro, the Narz, as well as Trebek era versions of "Concentration" was produced by Goodson-Todman Productions (Narz era) and Mark Goodson Productions (Trebek era). As such, music and sound effect cues from TPIR or other MG-BT/MGP shows would wind up on others. The best examples being the "Losing Horns," which would be used on TPIR, the Trebek "Double Dare," "Card Sharks" (the Perry era version also sharing the same theme as the Trebek "Double Dare"), and even "Classic Concentration" (the last chords).
@markschildberg16674 жыл бұрын
Concentration and TPIR we’re both produced by Goodson-Todman. Their favorite music company in the 70s was Score Productions, and GT bought out the rights to all the music Score created for them. So GT was free to use the music on any of their shows, which they did many times.

9:27 the "Splendido" cue from TPIR...aka "Nothing But Furniture": Ohhh yeah...It's nothing but furniture: Sectional Living Room, StainMaster carpet too. Too bad....nothing but furniture: Elegant Dining Room, Michael C. Fina and you. Aaaaand althoughhh, the bed is soft and dee-eep, You'll get a good night's slee-eep, You will still have nothing there to drive... no car...no truck...no vannnn... ...You're stuck with furniture: tan Broyhill furniture. Maybe some of it reclines. You can't believe *this* is it. Oh man, it's nothing but furniture. Rod Roddy's spiel is done. Should have kept Showcase One. How will you get this home? (repeat and fade)
