You are a genius. I love the way you utilised the app to start the carving process. The finished piece is superb.

Thank you so much! I was experimenting with using a Camera Lucida app for my phone called Fino. It lets you adjusted the image so you can see your work and the image at the same time and trace out your design by looking through the phone screen down onto your work. You just have to make sure that your phone is mounted on a tripod so that it doesn't move. It ended up working pretty well! I might do a future video on using this technique if people are interested.

Loving the concept of using an app to start the design. Is there a download still available for it?

Love watching your videos! its very relaxing. I was wondering you use 3D as well as handmade. isnt it possible to make this handmade with 3D?
@GraceNoteForge2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Yeah, this probably could have been modeled pretty easily in 3D. But one of the main reasons I like to hand carve my pieces rather than 3D model them is to keep practicing and refine my skills (and I just really enjoy hand carving 😁) 3D modeling/printing is great but it isn't perfect for every project. I've found that In some cases, hand carving is fasting and more cost effective than having to take all the steps to model/print/wash/cure a piece.

Beautiful pendant!! If I may ask you, the application you used to “project” the image onto the wax from your cell phone what is it called? Thank you in advance!

The app is no longer present on the store - is there an alternative?

I've seen a few different ones here and there. If you search "camera lucida app" you should be able to find one that works the same. 👍
