We think in concepts. We act on our conceptual understandings, even though they are often unconscious or implicit. Evaluation is viewed primarily as methodologically based but the case made here is that evaluation as a field is first and foremost conceptually based. Concepts drive what we do and how we understand and justify what we do.
This video invites you to consider what concepts inform your thinking and practice by taking you on a journey through the richly diverse landscape of evaluation concepts. At an hour in length, it is not for the conceptually faint of heart. But if you decide to take the trip, you'll encounter classic concepts, emergent concepts, evolving concepts, layered concepts, controversial concepts, singular concepts, conceptual dualities, conceptual triads, quadrants, hexagons, typologies, taxonomies, and conceptual frameworks galore.
To make it easier to consume in digestible nuggets, here are the timed sections of the video.
