50% of South Africans cannot provide for their retirement. This is according to the FNB Retirement Insights Survey 2024.
More concerning is that the number of South Africans without retirement plans is increasing, particularly among middle and lower-income earners.

Rent takes half, food was a quarter but due to constant losses due to cable theft and city power that could cut well into the last quarter and it often consists of cleaning products instead of more food items, ive not even started on fuel and electricity and soon from what i can see so far is that in the near future a sum far exceeding the remainder is to be stolen to pay for corruption and free healthcare. Screw that, i will just join the millions of freeloaders
