I'm an educator and I look forward to her leadership. Our education department is a mess. I wish we could have an overhaul of CAPS. Overcrowded with content and not enough time given to reinforce and ensure that learners understand what they have learned.

Consolidation of concepts, not ploughing through a massive curriculum overloaded with assessments. 30 in a class maximum, otherwise it's crowd control. Teach student teachers HOW to teach literacy and numeracy. Children should leave the foundation phase able to read and write and work with numbers. Those teaching student teachers should spend regular time teaching children IN schools to be aware of the challenges. Children deserve teachers who are well trained and passionate about making a difference.

Employ At least 2/3 social workers per school to assist with the psycho-social issues such as Teenage pregnancy, Substance abuse, Trauma and mental health of our learners. This will alleviate stress from teachers and principals who are already overwhelmed. They are unqualified to deal with these issues, they will be able to focus on their mandate.

@@ayandatwala5323 thats why the % is low because learners are progressed to another class not knowing anything at all but you see someone in Matric because of the “progression criteria” the funny thing is that learners even know that🥺🥺😂😂🙆🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️ they remain in school and not focusing on their school and expect to be taken to ai other grade…. Please, Minister, take away teachers' paperwork. Thats all they do. With the result, teachers are not spending time with learners. Decrease the number of learners in classes. Pay the teachers better. Many teachers are working abroad. Bring back those teachers. Speak to te teachers. Those on the ground. Hear what the frustrations of teachers are. They are the ones thats teaching ,thats in the class.

There will be no difference if there is no focus on trade and skills schools. Not all children are academically inclined but more than 90% of schools are academic by nature.

Most young learners who fall pregnant have nothing to do with their upbringing but their circumstances, intercourse has been forced leading to them being pregnant, enforcing justice would definitely prevent males / criminals from doing this if they are aware they would get punished for their crimes.

I despise the DA to the point of revulsion, but this young lady has swept me over. Insightful, matured and all things we expect from a leader. I do hope she does succeed in this venture and that the dinosaurs in the DA, more especially their Queen gargoyle do not spoil it for her.

You have the wrong impression of the DA. The DA has many very young and very capable leaders of all races across our beautiful country!! For example, people like Mayor Chris Pappas ( 32) of uMngeni Municipality and his young Deputy Mayor, Sandile Mnikathi ( 28). This duo is making waves in KZN! There is even an Arte tv Documentary about them on KZbin!

What about the DA makes you despise them? The roots of the DA come from parties that were against the racist apartheid policies and the NP. They have only ever fought for the people of South Africa.

It's just because you haven't examined the fact objectively. The comrades dribble millions of people daily, while they pick their pockets. They're experts at deception.

Please minister help us, children are not failing even if they are not competent, learners are not given time to spell and to read because they want 80 written activity for the term which means teachers are just make stock taking in writing feared to be checked 80 written work, learners have no time to be taught thorougher reading and good spelling

last time, the DA put the wrong person in charge of WC ed, and he closed down low performing schools in underserved areas... 6 months later (because he was gay and his mother was a friend of the Z), they gave him a holiday and a scholarship... samething happening here - they are going to whip the poor
