Frank Ticheli's "Concerto For Clarinet" was written for Swedish clarinet virtuoso Håkan Rosengren and has since become a popular work in the band repertoire. The piece is in three movements, each one serving as a tribute to the three giants of American classical music. The second movement is a tribute to Aaron Copland, reflecting the wonderful sense of Americana in his music as well as his ability to write gorgeous melodies.
Performed by the University Of Michigan Symphony Band.
Michael Haithcock, Conductor
Daniel Gilbert, Clarinet
