Here after watching clips of Conclave. Remembered back to when this happened in Catholic middle school. We actually had mass as the last thing to do that day and the priest delivered the news from the Vatican that white smoke had been released.

As a Catholic myself, I've always known nobody can put on a show like Rome. Ever. This was another awesome moment in the life of the most organized and the only Apostolic Church on Earth. Even a non Catholic friend of mine said when this happened, "Well, I will tell you that the Catholics do this well." Amen. God Bless. Cars.

I was a bit ill that day, When I awoke, a little after 7 o'clock, I put on the radio, the first thing I heard was a journalist yelling loudly: White smoke, white smoke... What an evening remember. Yes, Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum, thill this day!!

I saw a white bird flying over the white smoke. I want to believe that was the Holy Spirit and it brought tears to my eyes thinking that the newly-elected Pope has been showered with the the gifts of the Holy Spirit to make Pope Francis a good descendant of St. Peter. Imagine living in the time period when they were first created. Some people had never laid their eyes upon anything remotely beautiful as these images you bash. I agree, but whether or not it's for the right reasons, is for anyone of us to decide for ourselves. I for one don't have faith, and I don't agree with religion. I had to explain to a co-worker who aped what they were saying on CNN because the Church paid billions to the victims of molestation. It is a large bureaucracy and these things are very hard to control. We haven't heard whether the Penn State Sandusky victims have been compensated, and they haven't closed Penn State, yet they knew about Sandusky 10 years ago and did nothing. It is a patten of abusers: they go where they can have access to their victims and an alibi. Are all coaches abusers?

That is correct more or less. The Pope is supposed to be the symbol of Christ, thus the title Vicar of Christ. Peter was chosen by Jesus to lead his church, thus he is considered the first pope. Also with what you said about the popes being human and having their own faults, that is true for everyone one of them, even the saints. Francis I, seems like a man with much humility, a trait I find favorable.

Your logic is flawed. If someone asked me what the square root of 144 was, and I said 12 but wasn't completely sure but I guessed, and got it right, is it not true because I guessed it without 100% assurance and was not positive it was truth? No, it's called faith. I believe that my religion is truth. I have followed the evidence to this conclusion, so it is my truth. Also, just because I'm religious does not mean my children will be too, I will encourage them to follow their own beliefs.
