Democracy itself is a dying phenomenon in these current times. No matter what side you're on. There is no evil and good, only evil, depends on how you look at it. You're a left voter in a right wing controlled country? Boom. Your opinion doesn't matter. You don't matter. Your freedom of speech is no more. And vice versa when you are a right voter in a leftist controlled country. No matter under what kind of government we live, the past years have been hard, and the following will be even harder, so we can rebuild democracy as a concept in the decades to come. As the qoute goes: "Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times." We are currently in the last phase. The weak times.

Discredit all media and reinforce the idea that yours is the only true word that can be trusted. Step #3. Establish your Administration of loyalists bound only to you and your word only. Step #4. Create an Extrajudicial group (like the Gestapo, Brown Shirts, or The Proud Boys) whom you can call upon for acts of pressure and intimidation as well as other activities you cannot order regular groups to perform like the police or the military. Step #5. Establish a system whereby third parties can funnel money to you the leader in some way (like buying your Crypto) to legally bribe the leader (you) for preferential treatment. Use your loyalists (see #3) to obstruct others from getting the government to do what they want unless a “tribute” has been paid to the leader. SO HOW IS TRUMP DOING? My family has dodged not 1 but 2 authoritarian regimes. The first one was pure luck - our ancestors had moved to another country right before, the second, they planned with some inkling of what might come next, where to go next. This is how we ended up in the US: we were accepted as refugees. The Trump administration is scary to me because it reminds me of what my parents told me about. For example, the encouragement of federal employees to snitch on each other re: DEI measu res. Whatever your stance of DEI is, snitching is a horrible thing to encourage. It starts with colleagues, then friends, then neighbors, then your own family (including children) encouraged to report whatever big, small, or unproven things you might have said or done. Losing your job is minor compared to being placed in labor camp or getting executed. Another is using threats of physical harm towards those who oppose you - Trump removing federal protection of Bolton, Fauci, Pompe - brings that to mind. Not because danger towards them has lessen but rather done to seek personal revenge. On election night, when Trump was elected, my mom called me and told me to watch out and prepare for what might happen. We have these experiences in our family but I believe the average American, lucky to have lived under a democracy all their lives, have no idea what Trump is doing. This is not about Republican vs. Democrats vs. conservatives vs. liberals...rather it is about democracy vs. tyranny.

Now I find myself having warned my friends and family of what I was seeing and sending and questioning, and mostly I've been roundly mocked or told I was being negative....have posted my observations and historical references in social media the last ten years, and again, crickets or laughter. Looking back at my post of the last ten years, suddenly I see something I'd even missed-- it comes from both sides. Once upon a time I was a Republican & a Christian (no longer either, for good reason.) Then I became an independent, and cultivated my own spirituality in the way I saw fit for me. And it was then I began to observe such clues and tells from BOTH parties. Then I could see what was coming. And all those around me disregarded what I told them as rubbish, "conspiracy theories", "Where's your tinfoil hat?" Welp, a good majority of those people drank the koolaid and bought the lies for certain, this year. And here we are. I wish more people understood Project 2025 and its long history of becoming, and understood the goal, and the fact it is now finally being implemented-- without our understanding, without our informed consent. And therein lies the problem with most Americans: They fail to understand that your vote should not be a popularity contest or based simply on what you hear in the surface. One's vote should be INFORMED consent. Meaning, do your due diligence, and research before you ever make your choice. Additionally, if you choose to sit it out and not decide, you still have made a choice. So, here we are.

Like what? I'm not even a fan of the NYT, but if they put out articles like this before he was elected, the MAGA crew would just dismiss it as crazy left wing slander against poor old victim Trump, and as a mainstream newspaper it would "prove" the establishment are out to get him. What media should point out is that Trump and his administration are the establishment now. The media should focus on gaining control of the anti-establishment narrative and use it against the current establishment. The longer Trump is in power, the more establishment he'll appear to the public, especially if the press remind everyone that he is in charge of the establishment now. We start working on this now, and a portion of his main voter based (people voting for tangible change and what they perceive as being anti-establishment) will turn against him by the end of his presidency.

@@BonT777 You can be "nice" and still be a dictator/ authoritarian/ tyrannical leader. Hitler loved animals, was a vegetarian and he was kind to children (of the right type). I read a true story once from a man who as a boy lived near Hitler, right before he took over Germany. He was a blue-eyed, blond-haired cute little Jewish boy and whenever he lost control of the ball he was playing with, the nice man across the way - if he was outside - would bring it back to him and even talked with him a little. That man was Hitler and he did not know the little boy was Jewish. The boy's parents moved abroad as they could see the approaching war and he/ his family was spared. Only years later, talking to surviving neighbors did the man realize who his friendly neighbor was. In the concentration camps, Jewish children were often among the first murdered. At the end of the war, child relief organizations were expecting some young orphans but the great majority (like 90%+) were teens because babies and younger children were killed. Some teens could perform hard labor and others lied about their age to survive. "Nice" is surface (ala Minnesota nice); kindness is deep.

@@christianachineme9803 Just to dive a little deeper. The drafters of the 14th Amendment were Abolitionist Republicans. They had opposed slavery and the slave power that dominated the South on moral grounds their entire lives. They were also fierce believers in democracy. To them, the Civil War was a challenge to their moral and political beliefs. The South, led by its slave-holding aristocracic minority, was fighting to preserve an evil institution while the proximate cause of the war was their refusal to live with Lincoln's election. In the immediate aftermath of the war, Southern voters, still dominated by the antebellum ruling class, were electing the secessionists and insurrectionists back into State and Federal offices. The drafters of the 14th Amendment felt the Disqualification Clause, which is essentially anti-democratic because it does deny voters a choice, was a necessary safeguard. That was true after the Civil War, and, as we know see, true after Jan 6. But, SCOTUS did not uphold the Constitution.

It starts with compliance from journalists to keep silent. Our children are the living testament of the actions of the last five years. There was no mathematical, statistical or epidemiological reason for what we did to our children.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this video will make now, but I suppose any bit helps. Some commentors here disagree with the video, but I am uncertain how they are ok with a president saying he will prosecute out of spite, making up evidence to do so - "Hey it's not me and I dislike / don't know that person, so it's all good"?

Should’ve accused the Democrats of the same thing the past 4 years, but all we heard from mainstream news voice was a deafening silence. There were congressional Democrats in 2018 and 2019 saying that the DOJ needed to prosecute Trump when he left office. Why did Biden pardon his family? Why did he pardon Fauci and Milley? Idk maybe because he recognized that they had violated the law.
