They say..."Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina is the first non-European leader of the church in more than 1,000 years".. that is a big truth!...but also 1000 years ago was no America as we know it...and where wore they elected from? EUROPE...never Constantinople or Alexandria..so yes...only from Europe. something tricky here..

You are of course right. And as with all human 'prophesies' (including but not limited to Nostradamus) the 'fulfillment' are usually vague and often forced at best. Still, an interesting question to ponder. How long does the church/religious systems still got...

Many people may say it's not necessary to have a Pope. However, we as Catholics need someone to direct us and to lead us on the right path towards Heaven. Being Pope is as simple as that...a human being who is chosen by the will of Jesus to help Catholics and others reach the final destination: Heaven! This being the year of faith, I believe that Pope Francis will only make the Catholic Church better and I pray that he will be a great Pope! God Bless :)

Part I (from "My Catholic Faith", a great book) "The Bishop of Rome, the lawful successor of St. Peter, is what Peter was, Vicar of Christ and visible head of the Church." "Christ is the true and invisible Head of the Church. But its visible head is the Bishop of Rome, our Holy Father the Pope, because he is the successor of St. Peter." Now, Dozer, regarding Mary, once again, I will quote this great book. "Mary gave her free consent to what was taking place" i.e. Jesus' presence in her womb"

Even though this is your personal opinion, to some people, this is a very special occasion. This man, this great man, is a wonderful and very important person in the eyes of so many people. If you don't like him, it's not fair to others to ridicule him. If you don't like it, you don't need to watch it, but please don't say such things, because this man was chosen for a very important purpose and he deserves all the love and prayer that we can give him.

Part II (quoting the book "My Catholic Faith") "Mary gave her free consent to what was taking place, as St. Luke emphasizes in his story of the annunciation." "Because of this free consent, Mary has an important share in the fulfillment of the plan of salvation. God wills that through her free cooperation, his Son should be brought into the world and mankind saved." "Mary's role, therefore, is greater than any other person's except that of Jesus Christ himself."

One does not simply know the truth, you can't call us Satanist, you do not know us, you do not know our intentions, God has put a limit to human understanding, and for a good reason, don't try to go past that limit, just believe in God, do not hate on us. The truth is past that limit, abandon it, just believe.

I don't know why some people can't respect other people's religion. Religion should not be something that separates us, I'm not the guy who knows every verse in the bible, and even if I did. I will not use these words to tell others that "hey, I know exactly what to believe because I completely understand what it is trying to say".. So instead of judging religions and saying things about other religions, why don't we just start what our religion is telling us to do, which is to do something nice

I'm on this video because, regardless of religion, the Pope is an extremely influential person in the world. And I take an interest in him because of that, even though I'm an atheist. That doesn't mean that I ignore or condone the many abuses of the Catholic church or, indeed, of the many moral and legal abuses committed by Christians and members of other religions all around the world. Here's hoping for someone who can lead the Church into a modern world and help those who need help.

I really like him. Took the bus, walked in dangerous slums, washed the feet of AIDS sufferers, tried to pay for his hotel bill after being elected Pope, insists on staying in a small apartment rather than the Papal residence and put the Curia on notice that he's in charge. He's also doing Holy Thursday Mass in a youth prison instead of St. Peter's.
@johnshannon965612 жыл бұрын
The pope is actually the bishop of Rome and the idea traces back to Peter as the "rock" upon which the church was built. I'm not saying this is the real story but that's the Catholic interpretation...which IS Bible-based...

People who are here to criticize religion,let me tell you religion and the vatican are different things,religions is what you believe,the fact that you believe in god,and that you pray and you feel better,, that you believe in what the bible says,and first of all that you know that you have to be a good person.What man do in this world will never be perfect,but i can agree that could be better,th church could be better,but there again,we are the church too,we have to start being good people too

The Bible may not have mentioned that Popes should lead the Church, but the intention of Christ was that all of Peter's successors (i.e. Bishop of Rome/Pope) would lead the Church, which was in fact, in the Bible. So, The Pope is mentioned in the Bible, and in the Bible, it had been said that all of the successors of the first Bishop of Rome would lead the One, Holy, and Catholic Church.

The disciples did not purposely do anything to start the Catholic religion. Catholics gave scripture their own spin, resulting in what it is now. There was a christian church started in Rome though. Paul visited them to strengthen them. So from there, people made the mistakes they did to come up with Catholocism

I love everyone that don't contradict to the faith of the people, so, therefore, I also love Jesus, for he made the people believe in God (may he be God's son, or if he is not, then, even just as a Prophet), I love Mary, for conceiving Jesus, and not interfering with the faith of others, I love David and his son, Solomon, for they are the Saviours of the Jews, and they don't interfere with others, I love Muhammed too, He made people believe, When we Catholics interfered, He defended their faith.

Of course he is Peter the Roman. The prophetic name for the pope isn't direct as usual. Just like Joseph Ratzinger had chosen the Benedictine order which symbolized the olives, Mario Bergoglio choose his name in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. And guess what? St. Francis of Assisi was an ITALIAN born Catholic friar baptized as Giovanni, born Francesco di PIETRO di Bernardone. Well there it is guys. Right on the money

Why? For the purpose of maintaining their predisposed system of government that they believe the church should be under. However they, like a lot of people who don't believe at all, still seem to think Jesus was still talking about Peter when He said "and on this rock I will establish My church..." but, ours is to kindly enlighten, not condemn. For people who think they believe, but have been mislead, use the Word. If they still refuse, that's between them and God

No, the 'rock' he's referring to is Jesus. Remember, Jesus is the Word of God, He spoke what He was given to say. If he was still talking about Peter at that point, then you'd be siding with how the Catholics see it. Never said Mary was a life long virgin, or else Jesus wouldn't have had siblings. Which He did, men are allowed to marry; and we are supposed to be holy, and I quote, "Be holy, for I am holy." Lev 11:44, 45, and 1Peter 1:16
