I really loved it. Ralph Fiennes is so excellent in it, and Ed Berger is a truly amazing director. When you look at his previous work: Patrick Melrose with Benedict Cumberbatch, and the re-adaptation of All Quiet On A Western Front, you can see the true beauty in both the storytelling and the aesthetic. ❤❤

Honestly one of the most disappointing movies I've ever watched. Had the makings of a decent m*rder mystery but that ending was just so bad

My theater showed "Conclave" for 3 weeks, with mostly seniors coming to watch it. Teens bought tickets for it and tried to sneak into "Smile 2" It was pretty easy to catch them because "Conclave" was rated-PG.

I understand what you said about the ending but that is the book’s ending so the director did the best he could with it. I do need to shout out the gorgeous score, costumes.

Very great movie. The twist was bad but it was still a solid movie

Hollywood will never make a religious movie better than Immaculate.

I saw it. It was just actors we liked looking very secular and religious. I didn't care for the story and it was kinda boring. It also just seemed to end. It was cool to see actors we loved as secular or religious heroes of sorts, but end of the day it was okay, just okay.

You guys realize that was the ending in the book correct? That’s if you read of course.

You realize the ending of a book and a movie can be different, right? Especially if a film doesn't have near as much time to tell a story. I still enjoyed the film but the final act kept it from greatness.

Ahhhh the Vatican. Want to know what this review and movie reminds me of? The fact that Adam, the great knower of film, has never seen The Godfather 3. Give in, Adam. Give in!

I should have paid attention to Adam back when he said The Iron Claw was garbage. Someone else recommended it to me but the only way to watch it for me at the time was buying the blu ray. I watched it and was like this sucks. Not good storytelling at all. Probably gonna donate the blu ray to a local thrift store

Agree 100% As stupid as I find the Catholic Church and the whole hierarchy and bureaucracy, I liked the movie a lot more than I expected. The acting was great, the mystery was interesting… but the end was completely asinine and stupid. So unrealistic for the Catholic Church. It was just dumb, like a different writer just stepped in at the last minute and said “and now this happens”. Such a let down for an otherwise good film.

@@AdamDoesMovies but visually it was really impressive... like an old school art film... so definitely worth a watch.

So, I actually saw this movie the day before it left theaters on Tuesday. Everything about the movie was excellent: the acting, the visuals, the story; it really was firing on all cylinders until that climax. I have been struggling for days trying to figure out if I liked it. In the end, I thought the ending and the message it was trying to convey just did not work narratively. Also, I'm gonna come out and say it...the ending was WOKE. (I say this as a left leaning black american male, who hates the overusage of the word "Woke").

Spot on with me. That's why I said this movie is clearly made for the Hollywood folks to eat up. They love that crap. The ending just didn't feel earned and definitely deflated the rest of the film. It was like a small side plot that become the main story in the last 2 minutes. Just odd.

You’re trying to make a great film for an audience that jams theaters to see Moana 2 & Wicked - simpletons that are distracted by shiny objects - god forbid you have a film with some semblance of a plot.
