Actually there is one natural phenomenon I know of where prime numbers are generated. The life cycles of cicadas. There are about 1,500 species of cicadas known. And there are those that appear yearly in midsummer, and there are also the so-called "periodic" cicadas. They appear at prime number intervals - 7 years, 13 years and 17 years. The idea is that in so doing, they don't overlap with other species and crowd each other out.

@@natevanderw Actually, to the extent that primes could indicate some kind of intelligence, even just finding those 3 primes in an alien world would be a tell-tale sign of some kind of cognition. Cicadas are pretty clever. We know primes go on for ever but finding a pattern in the primes is one of the biggest mysteries in mathematics. Because as you count through the universe of numbers it is almost impossible to spot a pattern that will help you to predict where the next prime will be found.

binary and base 10 are probably necessary to get to the digital age. But I suppose base 10 could be a human bias due to having 10 fingers/toes. @SamsaraRevolves
@SamsaraRevolves Жыл бұрын
The idea of using encoded constants, other than a series of blips seems illogical, because it assumes other life forms will use a base 10 number system or know how to decode our messages. We probably need to look into mathematics as ratios rather than absolute numbers based on a system. Pi, for example, should be a perfect ratio of something, since infinitely long numbers like pi show us that our base 10 system doesn't represent the shape of our universe. Prime numbers seem okay since you could blip it out regardless of the number system.
@natevanderw
@natevanderw Жыл бұрын
That is why prime numbers are the way to go. The are independent of units and bases. Another idea would be to convert certain constants nature to dimensionless units by setting c=h=1 etc. digits of pi depend on base chosen, Pi is an irrational number so it can't be viewed as a perfect ratio of two numbers.
@SamsaraRevolves
@SamsaraRevolves Жыл бұрын
@@natevanderw - but PI a perfect ratio of something, even if it can't be represented numerically. At least, that's my intuition. Maybe figuring that out is part of the key to taking our knowledge to the next level.

What is pretty clear to me is that the whole universe is one big equation and the earth is just a part of the the algorithm that keeps it running. There are clear mathematics at work in nature. Fibbonaci being the most obvious. To think detecting radio waves would be the answer is just so primative and typical of humanities assumption of superiority in a universe where we have been here for a blink of an eye. I could go on but this alone is more tech and science than the experts say they were supposed to have and there are too many examples for it to be coincidence. Is it possible DNA is the ultimate way to keep information? Its transferred through generations and could last millions of years or on geologic time scales. Its goal is to pass its information to the next generation to live and not die. Does that mean DNA was constructed from an alien civilization?

The whole notion of the Dyson sphere is a little silly I my opinion. I would imagine a civization reaching those levels of technologies would look inward into anti matter and dark matter for exponential energy needs. I stead of havresteting a sun with steam punk like setups. I think the idea of a Dyson sphere is convenient for us, but ultimately its because we couldn't even begin to fathom what or how a civilization like that would run. It's like the apes thinking if we could just have some sort of device that covered the exponential growth from an apes point of view and needs. I think sci-fi often times dumbs things down to this level.

What if there is a testimony to the effect that ""they" are living hidden in this Planet" but do not want people to look for them"? The underlying theory is that they are our forefathers and that they are letting humanity to evolve without tutelage in order to develop all the innate talents that we are endowed with by our Creator. SouthAfrican investigator Michael Tellinger calls this theory "the prime directive" a concept originally used in the Star Trek saga. The direct scientific question is, without euphemisms: "who the H***** built the incredible archaeological sites at Petra (Jordan), Baalbek (Lebanon), Kailasa (Maharashtra, India), Sacsayhuaman (Cuzco, Perú) and hundreds of more mysterious sites all over the world. Where did those chaps go? Surely they are not likely to have become extinct.

1 problem I see is, we look at this subject through the lens of the technology path this civilization took with regards to sciences and understanding of things. For example the Great pyramids we still have ZERO idea how they were built even with our current understanding of things, they were built by a previous civilization that obviously had a different tech path that was lightyears beyond ours. A civilization that might be a billion years old who knows how advanced they would be and here we are talking about "radio signals" 🤣. YEARS are only relative to us here on earth, 1 year to us might be a day to a different civilization 🤷‍♂️

Lol you crazy crackpots love to bring up the Great pyramids like it is some check mate. "they were built by a previous civilization that obviously had a different tech path that was lightyears beyond ours" Nope. You have watched way to many conspiracy theories. Do us a favor and re educate yourself using peer reviewed sources instead of the history channel

@@natevanderw there are ZERO viable explainations for how they were built mate, how is that crackpot? Or a "conspiracy theory?" There are still many question marks over them that nobody can explain lol even with our current grasp on technology 🤷‍♂️

@@geoffatutahi8520 I built them with telepathy to explain that the speed of light is ancient technology. Then I scribed 666 in the bible representing carbon based life.
