I have a difficult time believing that number but if it's true, this is an even bigger fuck up than anybody with an ounce of commonsense thought. There should be massive changes at PlayStation leadership but because the dumb ass fanbase doesn't ask for better nothing will happen. I've reached a point of indifference with both PlayStation and Xbox and quite frankly 'AAA' gaming as a whole. Outside of GTA 6 and Metroid Prime 4 there's not really much I'm looking forward to, which honestly says a lot about the current state of gaming. Lack of new, interesting IPs is very disappointing.

At least the PS3 had a good library of actual exclusive games and enough good exclusives in its first 4 years to warrant a purchase and PSN was free. Sure the PS3 wasn’t great when it came to running most multiplats and PSN wasn’t that reliable but there was still value to the PS3 despite its flaws. The PS5 barely has 5 games and charges us the most for multiplayer and they don’t give us anything worthwhile playing multiplayer wise.

The problem with those games is they are complete stories and they did remasters for it already. I would say for them to make sequels or remakes to PS3 titles. PS2 titles will be hard just because the people who made those games are no longer around.

I thought 8th gen gaming is bad. This gen is god awful. The exclusives mostly are not even worth dropping $399.99 to $699.99 for the hardware to play them. Games are now $69.99 and I will never get use to it and have yet to drop that amount on game. We even have goofy gamers who call you broke boy for pushing back against the price hikes and justifying it using inflation. The PC, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo are failures in my eyes this gen.

I disagree that Sony can't make multiplayer games. Naughty Dog MP games have been very well made. The problem is that they are more focused on making games they can milk customers out of money on than making a great MP game. I understand you didn't like Factions or Uncharted multiplayer but I'm sure you would even admit they were well made Multiplayer games. Playstation's biggest problem is they neglected MP for the entire PS4 and PS5 gens and it's like they lost touch. PS2 and PS3 Sony killed it in the MP space. Always enjoy the videos Bond

Sony didn't do anything with multiplayer during the PS2 and the PS3 era. Especially on the PS3 where PSN was constantly going down due to terrible servers or DDOS or hackers. Killzone, Resistance, MAG, Starhawk, Warhawk, SOCOM Confrontation, Modnation Racers etc... had online communities that died out anywhere between 1 week to a few months. UC and Factions are just ripoffs of Gears of Wars multiplayer and the only Uncharted game that even had decent multiplayer was UC2. UC3 was shit and UC4 MP was much worst and it had constant latency and lag issues. There's a trophy for UC4 that you unlock for just simply going through 5 multiplayer matches and it has a less than 8.3% percent unlock rate. Whether you like these games or not or whether they're good or bad is irrelevant. They didn't get much community support at all. There's a reason why Sony allowed MLB the Show to go multiplatform and why we never get any decent multiplayer games anymore. Name me a multiplayer game that MS and Nintendo made that flopped as hard as Concord did? Why would Sony bother to make multiplayer games when the multiplayer games they put out have communities that die out either within 24 hours or maybe a few months if lucky?

Sony's best games are single player. I thought some of their more recent multi-player games were decent, but not bangers. Too many multi-player games out there, they need produce a game that stands out. SOE produced some games I liked, but that's years ago, and those games no longer belong to them. About PS5 Pro they need to turn it into a more affordable GAMING PC. That's the best way to look at it. Games that make you want to keep playing them make the platform.

I enjoyed Concord. I know to some here that is an insane take, but I put in 40 hours into it. Got my money's worth and the refund. I respectfully disagree with you that Sony should drop any and all PVP multiplayer. Some of my best gaming memories were with multiplayer. It's never a good idea for any company to put al their eggs in one basket. In fact that's actually a lesson in micro and macroeconomics in and of itself. Here's why; I know you believe that Sony needs to keep making the large scale AAA immersive blockbuster games that they're known for, but I think that might be what’s killing much of industry right now. These long development cycles coupled with ever growing budgets and the reliance of highly technical/graphical solutions in the chase for realism. I’m not saying Sony can’t or shouldn’t get in their bag of sweeping and sprawling narrative games. But if that’s all their output it’s not healthy at all. If anything they need to scale back and not rely so much on either the live service model or the big AAA releases and do something akin to the PS2/PS3 era in which smaller, more sustainable but great games were the norm. Easier said than done but Astrobot (as well as Nintendo’s ongoing success this gen) has shown it’s a possibility.
