I’m a PlayStation guy, but I am not a Sony droid mofo, not even close. I do love my Xbox as well. I just wanted to say that Sony themselves have admitted that most games they release lose money. They did state that ratchet and clank made a small profit. If Sony doesn’t change their business model they will be gone in the next 5 to 10 years. Financially PlayStation the biggest and most successful division of Sony hasn’t been doing well for years. This was before the PSVR 2 failure, the portal failure and I’m calling it now the ps5 pro will also be a failure. I’m a PlayStation guy mostly, but a blind man can see things in PlayStation land aren’t good. They have to do atleast a ps3 level come back if they wanna survive. Just calling it like I see it.

Sony launched 30+ servicable games projects long ago, they continues founded 12 of those. Sony is "fishing" for potential success stories, they are not stupid thinking there is room for all those servicable games. Failure or most of those games has been anticipated the day the 30+ projects were launched. They've hit a success with Helldivers 2. People thinking : They have invested 100m into that games, it's a disaster for Sony are completely wrong. They invested big on 30+ projects of multiplayer games, hoping to hit two success at least, and KNOWING 90% at least will fail. They don't get what Sony's strategy actually is for the multiplayer market.

Just for dumdums saying Hypercharge Unboxed was a failure: The base game is $25, and there is a $52 version with DLC and soundtrack. The DLC by itself is $17. So let's do some sloppy maths: Let's say the dev was literal and they sold _EXACTLY_ 100K copies/downloads, AND let's say they never sold a SINGLE DLC or Complete Edition... ONLY 100k downloads of the $25 game... That means those 6 indie devs (without publisher overhead) made a cool 2.5 Million Dollars at the BARE MINIMUM for a passion project. That is OVER $416,000 per indie dev. Now if you remove Microsoft, eShop and Steams' cut, that is BARE MINIMUM $250,000 per dev! But we KNOW they sold those DLC and Complete Edition Copies... we ALSO KNOW they sold more than EXACTLY 100k copies... and we KNOW they will sell more over the following months and years on Steam, Switch and Xbox. That's some REAL cash. Concord by contrast made 1.2 million!? I wonder how that divides across the 200 plus developers... AND a publisher? Oh, yeah: they are salaried, and SONY dropped $250,000,000 on it! How much money did you make if you spent $250,000,000 in developement and marketing, and only made $1,250,000 back? Expect some job losses. Indies are the future (and present) of this industry - and the PSonys better learn to *PONY UP* for smaller projects, because their walking sims are going the way of Jim Ryan.
