Great tutorial, I was wondering as i'm pretty new to Designer, how did you get the normal to have alpha blended into it at 6:12 and what purpose does that serve? as mine doesn't seem to be doing that when I set it up. thanks!

This was super helpful, thanks! Concrete is one material that I can never seem to get right, i've made like 6/7 versions in previous projects and i'm never happy with how it looks...
@sharpstance14177 жыл бұрын
The simpler materials are the tricky ones, it needs a balance of details and generic and that's not so simple to do :)

How do we export parameters with our substance so that they can be changed? Like change the amount of cracks , the amount of moisture etc.
@sharpstance14177 жыл бұрын
There's a little icon on the right of all the parameters that you can click and it will expand a menu, you simply hit expose parameter. It's probably best to watch one of the official tutorials for this though since there's a few more stuff you can do with them instead of just epxosing

If you do request I have a request for a concrete sidewalk/road texture similiar to ones on gametextures.

Hello nice tutorial, thanks! One question though, in Pass 2, how did you get that gradient look out of the Cells3+levels? I can't reproduce it.

I want to do more but at this point I'm neck deep with freelancing :)
@gnome3d7506 жыл бұрын
I can definitely relate to that. I'm myself working on finding a lot of freelance work. Would you be able to direct me where to find some work for texturing/modeling? It would really help me out!
@sharpstance14176 жыл бұрын
Although I do get a lot of offers for art, I'm doing freelance as a software engineer. For art jobs the best thing you can do is have a good portfolio and then making sure people see it. I hope that helps :)
