Amazing amazing ingenuity. ... always wanted to live in a warehouse/ greenhouse, basicly one open big space. Like a studio warehouse, where they live, have a studio, and a working area. Openess. I even looked in commercial areas for a good deal. Settled for 1.78ac fenced w/ 85yr old 3 room house. 700sq ft.🙄 2 3' closets, no kichen cabinets. Old. 100amp panel! Whoo Hoo! More than a fixer upper...🤪 45 mi. South of Atlanta in outskirts of then 22k ppl, now 36k. Although I'm very heavily landscaped it, for privacy, don't feel like I'm far enuf out though. But at 75, will most likely take my dream of a warehouse with me. (Or an old post office, church, gas station, general store) YOU however, spark my brain, DOING what you imagined. I have 'others' I watch on the tube, barndominiums, to tiny house, to homesteading, to van life. But YOU clipped that special spark off in me. Your offerings were science and practical influences, with hints of rationale and sheer brilliance. And alot of work and study. Even your videos pass along the fire and passion you have for your vision. Youf vids are technologicly intricate to hold attention, and complexity to hzve figure out how to do it YOUR way. You want efficiency and control. And your outcome has become predictable. Sucessful. God's speed and grace be upon you in a most intreaguing and intresting project on such a grand scale. The one thing you openly possess evidently is VISION. MUCH SUCESS TO YOU. 10mins into your first vid, I subbed. I know what Iike. i've been thinking about a crazy idea of making a wood stove sauna that also doubles as a smoker :P, so the smoker is on the outside of the sauna, but you can engage heat pipes with the airflow plates in the smoker so they act as a heat sync into the sauna when you want to heat that up. I have no way to build it but i think it would be a good way to reuse heat and make some tasty food while getting a sweat on. 😂

Congratulations! One thing I notice you are missing (haha, as if you didn't have enough going on), is a mushroom growing room. If you implemented one of those you could use the autoclave to steam-pasteurise the fresh mulch before adding it to your existing mulch. There is also a strategy which might work where you put the mulch in water so it kills the aerobic bacteria and it causes anaerobic organisms to colonise, then after a while you take it out of water to kill off the anaerobic bacteria. Not sure if that would help with insect eggs etc, but steam pasteurising would definitely work. Mushroom room would be great, wouldn't need to be in the greenhouse and wouldn't take up too much space.

@theuglykwan2 жыл бұрын
You can skip the tires and use earthbags or just just cinder blocks and concrete. There's also mechanical pounders that can reduce some of the muscle work. My lottery home is also an earthship combined with a greenhouse this size. The standard earthship greenhouse isn't going to cut it for me. Even the size of this one is probably insufficient for my dreams! This guy lives in Canada.

Good stuff, love seeing it coming along, the concerte in the back will let you have the trees in pots which can help limit them getting too high in there, so thats a plus. The saunas a good idea the greenhouse in Colorado at the Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute has a sauna inside, free heat after using it and the dryness will help in winter, so will that wood stove as well XD

Hey Dean! I don't think you want glossy white, unless that's all you can get. Matte white reflects significantly more light and diffuses any hot spots. Interesting fact: matte white reflects more light than a mirror. Similarly, matte black absorbs way more than gloss black.

It stands for Gasifier Experimental Kit, a modular automated and wildly configurable open source wood gas station, that runs on wood chips or pellets, to produce household gas, heat, hot water, and can be configured to produce biochar, active filter carbon and/or tar as bi-products. They have commercial units with pallet size footprint, called Power Pallet, that has an industrial petrol engine running off of the wood gas, with a generator producing 25kW.

Any chance the concrete will do the job as is? Painting is way more fun than unpainting. On local customers. I read there were no grocery stores in US until the 40s pr 50s. Now, like hamsters, we're trained to run to the store for food. All the "almost" food in the grocery, has the fossil energy cost of the "fertilizer",all the "cides" (i.e. pest, fungi, herb, insect, sui) and fossil cost of xportation and extended refrigeration, plus the hidden costs of the runoff into waterways etc,. Does it even make sense? The current food distribution system? I ain't pickin up what the system is layin down for logic on that. I'm sensing a tectonic shift to decentralization with food production an all star. But other areas as well.
