As a driver i say concreate mixer driver job is maybe the best job to have. Its rewarding, no need to wrestle with the cargo, unloading is satisfying and interesting to see different worksites. Plus here i have the best work friends and some times we have time to chat and drink plenty Coffee waiting for the next go. Rear load and no chute.

Ok I got 10 yards at a 3slump I looking at your chart it said a five is need what when you get out the plant it at a 3 but you mix it to a five ? Is that the format?
@fabphil63068
@fabphil63068 7 жыл бұрын
GasBroker 880hp basically but you always check your ticket to see what slump you need on the job. if you need a 5 you ad the water (20 gallons) when washing down. I never ask for water under the plant because your initial reading is very seldom right because the materials are never mixed properly until you give it a couple minutes.
@ryanconlow3645
@ryanconlow3645 6 жыл бұрын
So there is no water in the mix until you arrive or do the give you the highest slump and you can adjust it
@fabphil63068
@fabphil63068 6 жыл бұрын

Good Drivers are hard to find, so slot of companies offer great pay and benefits. Just shop around and see what they are paying. As far as curves most trucks have air ride which definitely helps. It's not as bad on curves as the myth would lead you to believe. It's all about being safe.

I've been driving for about a month now. My trainer never had me put my hopper up one time during training. Do you know why? Since I was never trained to do that I've never done it. Is that a problem?

I seem to read so many negative job reviews for this line of work in addition to what is now the 2nd "glim" report put out by the NRMCA. Would you say its better to just put that stuff out of my head and accept the interview and go for it?

@fabphil63068
@fabphil63068 7 жыл бұрын
Buddyx76 when training you are not expected to win races. safety is always first. they are not as top heavy as they used to be. the air ride on the trucks make a huge difference in keeping a truck level. as far as slumps that comes easily enough with time and repitition
@phsycopiano
@phsycopiano 7 жыл бұрын
Take your turns very slowly, it's not a race in these things. You will feel the truck lean left and right but you'll get used to it. If your not sure about the slump take a look at it, if you think it's wet let the batch guy know and he'll dry you up buy don't leave the plant if your wet.
