You turn the clips at a slight angle and put an #8 penny nail half way in and bend it . This prevents the vibration of the concrete to cause the clips to fall off. Also stager your 2x4s by 4 ft and break the joints on a clip.

That is exactly what i was about to post here. Great minds think alike. Happy New Year! 🎉 Be safe.

you might want to lap your 2x4 not at your plywood joints. stager the upper and lower long 2x4's around the pins. Dont have them end at the same place. extend the 2x4's past the end of the wall which will allow you to "cap" the end wall with small 2x4's fastened into the extended long wall 2x4's. Best of luck

Just rent wall forms from somewhere. The cost will equate to the time you’re going to spend building this. You’ll be able to do another 3 projects by the time you’re poured out. They’re a lot more sturdy too I’m sure.

By the time you buy the lumber and figure in all the labor it is so much cheaper to rent handset forms for a month.

I live in central Texas. Basements are rare. I couldn't find any to rent. How much is it to rent a set where you live?
@sbenn6917 Жыл бұрын
@@rollingoakhome2381 its actually not that bad. Anywhere from $1.50 psf to $2.50 for the month. We have a bunch of distributors in my area so it's easy to get forms. I realize that it's not that convenient for everyone.

@@rollingoakhome2381 I have built a lot of basements in central Texas if your one and done you can use the plywood on your roof or decking and rent the clips at your local concrete co .

I bet this lumber wasn’t THAT expensive.

if your using short end ties it’s better to use burke clamps because you end up using halt the 2by 4

No hog troughs? Those whalers need to overlap to lock those corners in. I see a blowout

Can you reuse the osb for other concrete work?
@maddierosemusic7 ай бұрын
If you oil it you can use it again for forms. I'm doing a stem wall in my basement like this.

I have true 2" x 4". Does tie and wedge only work on the regular 2" x 4" ?
@rollingoakhome2381 Жыл бұрын
The wedges are designed for standard 2x4s.

Can you tell me how you hold that in places vertically?
@rollingoakhome2381 Жыл бұрын
I screwed a 2x6 to a 2x4 like angle iron. Then I screwed that to the horizontal members. You can see it in my later videos. They make a long snap tie that will allow you to put a wedge over the horizontal 2x4s and a set of vertical 2x4s. This is probably the right way to do it.

where did you buy the ties and wedges and how much did they cost?
@Sanch4175 ай бұрын
The internet. “Steel dog” has decent prices on ties. They’re out of Pennsylvania I believe, but they ship pretty quick. I got mine in MI in a few days.
