This is definitely and by far the PhD at Tyflow University. Outstanding. And nice music too!

Je regardais des anciennes vidéos tyflow et je me suis dit que c'était dommage de ne plus en avoir depuis un petit moment ! C'est chose faite merci. J'ai beaucoup aimé celui sur crowd et ragdoll. J'ai beaucoup appris.

I can only ever dream of reaching this knowledge level of tyflow but I have to say that several of the redshift aspects of this video are not the best. 1. You should be be using standard surface for shading, especially the water 2. AO typically needs minimum 1K samples to look right with good unified sampling 3. AO does not look right in progressive, needs buckets, especially for crunched ao 4. Your hdri needs the color space changed to scene linear Hope this is not taken the wrong way, just wanted to let you know. Really appreciate the video!

Thanks for your feedback, for the shader I don't see much difference between the two materials, is there any benefits using the surface instead of the standard RS material ? AO here doesn't need to be perfect, since I'm simply using it as a mask for a surface that's already supposed to be blurry, that's why I reduced the samples to 8. As for the redshift dome light, it seems to automatically import the HDRI the right way, am I wrong ?

@@VictorBurtman rs standard is the newest one and the recommended to use due to better energy conservation and general ease of use, also has certain additional effects and features. It is true that out of the bag the difference won't be huge, but you can get some better fake caustics with some options it has. Fair enough regarding just needing general AO, just wanted to mention it because you'll get a different result for the final render if relying on progressive for a dialing in a crunchy ao. However, samples don't really affect blurriness, it only affects how well rs can sample it, which again affects the strength/accuracy and rendering speed (with good unified setup having high amounts of ao samples makes it render more accurate and faster). Don't know what your max unified is set to, but if ao samples are the same or lower than the max uni, or if you are using auto, then the number used in the video will actually have no impact. For hdr, auto is not correct, no. Needs scene linear otherwise it will be too saturated.

@@jangrashei1752 oh I see, thanks for all these tips. I'll make sure to pay attention to that next time :)

@@VictorBurtman another thing I remembered now is that you'd also need to set some options in rs object properties, for example blocking gi.
