As a native user of a Malaysian Parang, that parang looks very nice. A nice parang should be tough to handle bush clearing works and some rough wood work too. Avoid shock when cutting by adjusting the grip, dont hold it too tight

You are correct. I bet you use your parang as often as most people in the U.S use a spoon and fork. Feel free to share any tips

A well made parang is a serious woods tool! I have two custom ones that a friend made for me one in AEBL and one in 1095 and that seriously make for the best woods walking chetes down in and around the Everglades where it's CRAZY thick and tons and tons of palmettos that you have to cut thru to walk. Some of the places in the glades are basically untouched by human (except for the ones that have capable airboats and a huge want to get way back in there) so it's just crazy thick growth and huge gators, pythons and anacondas that are back there. We are back there to kill invasive snakes and find absolute monsters and a parang is about the perfect roll for de-heading 15-18ft slither bodies.

Ive been using one for years now and it has been great. The only thing I don’t like is that it takes more work to sharpen the convex edge.
