I do like the noises that stove makes, a great piece of kit. In the same way you use your whistle as a matchsafe/fire kit, I found a tubular object people used to use in the 70's/80's for keeping their money in at the beach, water proof with a big lanyard, junk to most people but it repurposed nicely. Thanks for the vid!

Glad you liked the tip on the Condor utility pouch, Dave! Here's another: the standard Condor M4 magazine pouch holds any 170mm saw like the BAHCO Laplander perfectly, with room for spare blades. I love the gadget pouch and Sidekick pouch as well. I use the gadget pouch for my new action camera, and my Sidekick pouch has been a great tool and repair kit for years now.

There is a guest commenting from Brazil and we can see your videos are really helpful for people in different regions. As we can see in this video, we as people in Japan also have heavily snowy days now. Even though I'm living in the southern region of Japan, there is the accumulating snow under sub zero temperature today. Probably, having a hot drink would be really awesome. I want to have a hot tea when this snow stops.

The SVEA 123 and 123R are wonderful stoves. I have been using them since 1974 and they have been with me all over the USA. I have a Condor H2O pouch set up, but it doesn't have my SVEA in it. I choose to use a small Nesbit stove in it and my setup works well too. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for taking the time to watch and for your excellent input, James! Quick question, if I may - being that you have used the Svea stoves for a long time, have you ever had to replace any parts or do any type of maintenance? Hey Dave...great video as always. I have a tip to share with you. Thought of it when you mentioned the benefit of matches with your stove. Order some “heavy 2mm beeswax hemp wick”. Then wrap the wick around the outside of your lighter. The good quality beeswax wicks will wrap nicely and the end of the wick will kind of “stick” to the wrapped wick and stay put. When you are ready to light your stove, unwind some of the wick, however long you would like, lite the end using the lighter and use like an extended match. When finished, put the end of the wick out and rewrap onto the lighter. You have a good fire source with multiple uses. Even makes starting normal fires easier and reduces the use of yiur lighter fuel. Also adds virtually no additional weight. Between this set up and a ferro rod you are set Hope that all made sense. Thanks for the vids

Is the Condor capable of holding a 40oz Kleen kanteen ? Nice set up, you've given me some new mod ideas ,for my own Brew kit...thanks for that. cheers 😎 👍 🔥 3:46 It's interesting, our closest canadian Walmart doesn't sell "HEET" anymore. 4:22 I like that bag ,within a bag ..makes it easier to pull out the canteen , without getting snagged on the lip edge of your bottle case. Plz do a review of your Possibles pouch ..plz.
@davidkeil62257 жыл бұрын
Kanzee I use a 40 oz Kleen kanteen. It does fit. With the cup. However not with the Stanley adventure pot. If you want to have the pot you have to do it his way. Or, if you're like me. Use the nalgean stainless backpacker. This way it will fit the cup, pot, 36 ounce bottle as well as a trangia stove all in the main compartment. Freeing up the side he uses for his stove. Only problem is. Trangia takes longer than the one he's using
@davidkeil62257 жыл бұрын

HighCarbonSteel Love sure Dave, I found that first it avoid spilling priming fluid all over and it gives a better priming time. I also found that using alcohol for priming leave less to no black sout on the burner. You should give it a try and if you find out that you dont like it it's not a permanent modification so you can remove it easly.✌️

how tall is this comparted to maxpedition ones? i have a maxped pair of 10x5's but i need something a bit taller, a 60 oz water bottle works in it but the lid is a pretty tight fit
@HighCarbonSteelLove7 жыл бұрын
Fully packed and zipped, I got a 10x4 measurement. I have heard that there are a few companies that make taller pouches. Thank you for taking the time to watch, my friend! -Dave

jeff vaughn left a comment up above that the Orca Tactical H2O pouch is taller at about the same price. Maybe you can see if that one meets your need? -Dave

Hey Dave🙂 Awesome kit! You can tell you have been at this for a while by the way you mix and match different pieces to your liking. I think self reliance outfitters should hire you to build kits for them👍🏻 is that the Condor pouch that came with their system? Did you get that hobo tool at Walmart? The only one I have seen is made by ka-bar. Another awesome kit I wish I had🎉🎉🎉 thanks for the video🙂👍🏻

Hey Joe! Thank you for stopping by! I would definitely take a job with SRO as a kit designer..haha! I am not sure if their H2O pouch is the Condor or not. Yes, I've purchased all 3 of my hobo tools at walmart for only about $4 each! Camping section. Great to hear from you, my friend! -Dave

Thats a really sweet kit man! I Like how its all fits so well, I use the same gsi cup and stanly cup, for my canteen I use a Kleenkanteen. I may have to buy the stanly canteen you have there since I just got a condor h20 pouch.. Im interested in your other pouches and what you cary!

I hate to say this but the pathfinder pouch is better. It is bigger and unlinked.i grew up with the Svea, but carry a canister stove as they are superior in simplicity and convince. Nice video.

Have you looked into getting better gloves maybe? I've got the wool military inserts as well but I also have the mechanix insulated gloves and flyers intermediate cold gloves.
@HighCarbonSteelLove7 жыл бұрын
I have gloves that are much better than the wool liners I am wearing, however, I wanted to have full use of my fingers for the video. Thank you for taking the time to stop by! -Dave

Dave I hope you still monitor your channel... it’s so helpful. I’m wondering if you’ve considered removing the insulation from the water bottle carrier to make that much more room.
