I've had this EXACT same pack for over a year, and have put it through heavy use, weather it be hailing gear out in the woods to cut some firewood or going on week-long camping trip, and there are barely any signs of wear and tear. This pack holds up great and I highly recommend it

I own the 48 and 36 liter Condor bags. I use them every day as overnight bags for work. They have the same strap attach points as this smaller bag. 50 pounds and every day use, they're still going strong 6 years in. You definitely shouldn't baby the bag, it'll last

I have 4 Rush 72s, 1 Rush 24 and 2 Rush 12s. I have come to hate all of them because the main compartment does not actually clam shell, because the zipper doesn't go far enough down to the bottom. It is very irritating when trying to open them up completely, they just can't open up. Also, they won't sit up straight when you set them down, but instead fall forward, because the admin pocket side sits higher than the hydration pocket side, even if you take the support panel out. You have to set them tipped over in such a way to stand semi-upright. So, I'm looking at Condors and maybe others to replace them all. Not sure what I'll do the the 511s.

Just a comment about the pack strap attachements. I have the La Police Gear Patrol Bag, and it has strap attachments EXACTLY as you show in your Condor Venture vid. I would surmise they are made in the same factory somewhere. I use my bag for EDC of my laptop, cables, a bunch of GHB goodies, lunch, extra clothes, rain jacket etc. It probably weighs between 15 and 20 lbs. And here's the point about the straps - I usually carry it over one shoulder so all the weight and stress is being held by one strap. After about a year of using the bag, I see only the most minute stress on the threads. I would consider that I use the bag beyond the way it was intended, and it has held up very well. All that to say, if the Condor bag is used with both straps for the most part, I would bet that it will hold up for many years without a problem.

I'm going to pick up the 5.11 Rush 72 soon and you gave me a great idea with this video. To put a ground tarp in the marsupial pocket. Thanks for that. Love your videos.

The only thing I can say on the shoulder strap from condor is there threading is good and usually run into one another meaning the part that looks cheep runs inside to the other side of the strap and nylon on, on nylon like that. Is not coming apart for a while. However on that note Condor cuts corners and I am not saying on stitching or quality; but on design they like to keep things simple it's not mean to be ecstatically pleasing. It's meant to function work and not fall apart and that's how this is intended, to be kept simple.

I got the Condor 3 day Assault pack for my birthday in Early July (for $65.00 on Amazon, which was the best deal my Wife and I could find) and have been out about 15 times for weekend over night'ers, it has the exact same strap to pack attachments as this pack does, and I just checked my bag to make sure, and so far, so good. I see no wear or tear at all....looks almost brand new. And, for that price or a little more, I can afford to buy another, before I get to the price of a similar bag from Maxpedition, or 5.11. Hope that input helps.

Hi Black Owl, first of all thx for a great review, I have 2 questions for the video. 1) Did the upper sewing hold up on the straps after long term (heavy) use? 2) what is the name of the orange material that will hold sparks? Thx in advance. Btw. sorry about the spelling, english is not my native tongue. Best regards.

Hey, Krick! I sub'd to your channel a couple of years ago and even "hit the bell" for updates but never get the notifications. Loved this review. (It's 3 years old and i'm sure there are much better bags out there now) but I am not loaded and this was a discounted item where i got it at the local surplus store only cost me 38 bucks. And yeah!! You're dead right about the criticism on the strap. My top strap isn't even sown in the same spots on both sides of the pack.. one side is over lapping a seam a little and also the strap itself is sewn half in front and half in back. It looks bad when viewing it up close but no one would ever notice (not that that matters) I'm just worried about the structural integrity of long term use. I'm considering modifying the bag and sewing on a different strap system at the top , maybe so that i can remove the top straps whenever i'd like , like the bottoms , but we'll see.. anyway.... As long as I can get maybe a year's use out of it'll be more than happy with it. Plus you can't go wrong with the lumbar feature on this particular pack (which I love because I was born with a disability that affects my back) and this pack definitely makes life easier). I might have to do a review of it myself. But over all I love the bag and i'm only 5'5 or 5'6 and weigh about 160 and it fits me perfectly.

What about the Kelty Peregrine 29 or MAP 3500 as a viable option to hold your stuff but not look like military surplus and weirding out the Sheeple? Only major issue I see is price; these pack have skyrocketed in price over the last few years for some reason.

Yea this style of pack can get very, very expensive. Stony and I were just talking about the new internal framed Maxpedition pack. I don't have any experience with the Peregrine 29, but I looked it up. Seems like it could be a nice little pack, but not one I would choose for various reasons. As for the MAP 3500, I wouldn't mind testing that out. -Krik

First off kudos to the camera man, as for the the pack itself, how is it holding up (have you abused it a bit)? I'm between this and the Rush 24 there identical minus a few things if you can give me your opinion on why you would choose one over the other that would be greatly appreciated. And also how is the Condor Venture holding up. I called Condor and they warrant for 1 year as opposed to 5.11 2 years. Thanks Mike!

Why do these companies always overlook pouches on the side for water bottles? I cross so many bags off my list of bags I’d actually buy because they apparently are never considered necessary. I’d always take a water bottle pouch over a water bladder any day

Would you recommend this for weekend long camping trips? i would be putting in a sleeping bag, foam pad (which should be able to be mounted on the bottom?), a soft shell jacket, pants, a shirt or two, other small clothing items, and a small camping stool. No I really appreciate it! and thanks for a quick response! I have the Condor Venture pack, so I went ahead and bought bought a 20 liter last night to test it out in Southern Mexico. I'll buy a bigger one and a bigger pack if need be for my attachments. I only have one attachment so far, that is my trauma medical bag, but i'll just put it in my pack if it starts to rain. I should have room, i think the Venture Pack, will be very durable and hold alot more provision than just a days worth of supplies if you pack it right. But here in a month I will really be able to put it to the test and see. I tend to travel in tropical regions so the Rain cover is a huge deal to me. I'll let you know how it turns out afterward maybe make a video. Thanks again for your quick response.

Hey guys, i need a new pack and im debating on wether or not to get this pack or the maxpedition zafar. I have the money to get this pack now but it will take me a bit more time to buy the maxpedition pack. Which one would you recomend???
@ligitmuffin
@ligitmuffin 9 жыл бұрын
Considering the zafar is about $200 the venture every time. The venture also has a lot more features that I prefer that the zafar doesn't. Like the clamshell opening, the nylon attachment points on the bottom of the pack, the marsupial style pouch, webbing instead of pouches on the sides and waste strap( I like to attach a tactical water bottle holder and dump pouches), the pack seems bigger over all though I'm not sure if it actually is, and I just prefer the look of the venture over the zafar. That being said the zafar is going to be better quality in general. IMO, I would go with the venture, you won't be disappointed, and use the money you would of spent on the zafar on dump pouches etc. The venture is going to be a lot more customizable. Hope this helped. :)

if that was in reference to this video, it is the tan pack. due to the color of how the film captured, that's why it has that tint. - stony

Don't buy this pack. Condor is crap, a buddy of mine and myself have both owned several condor packs and they always fall apart. Given, that is after rugged use out at the field, but its definitely worth spending the extra cash to get a TAD, Direct Action, or MSM pack over this.
