Thank you for chasing the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad's eastbound empty rock train from Batavia, Ohio to Afton Yard. Your initial capture of the train approaching the Main Street bridge in Batavia, Ohio was beautiful. Was this the first time that you have caught an eastbound train at this location. I only remember you capturing westbound trains at this location. I also enjoyed the quick tour of the Nestle Purina plant. The construction of the Nestle Purina is coming to completion. Thank you for the bonus tour of your property. (Posted on 24 October 2024 at 1357 CDT.)

Nice piece of live action on CCET. A proper train of 24 rock cars, enough to make those locos work pretty hard. I am really looking forward to seeing the first trains in and out of the Purina plant. That should keep CCET busy and hopefully profitable for many years to come! I may be on the opposite side of the Atlantic but I have been watching CCET ever since I did some research into the Abner Gaines Tavern about 20 years ago and for some reason I happened to find some history of the Cincinnatti Eastern Railroad. I learned a lot about its early days as a narrow gauge line and then saw some photos including the Scioto River Bridge. Since then I have followed the development of the CCET as it took over the Peavine line and that's how I began to watch your channel. I saw how you came home to find a small black kitten on the porch and have followed the pet section ever since. We used to run a handful of cattle on a smallholding as my uncles were in faming and we had a bit of land nearby. Thanks for interesting videos and the insight into life in Ohio.

Awesome video of that rock train. Looks like the engineer enjoys being videoed. I loved the tour of your property, that's a lot of land. Very flat where you live. I worked 39 years in water treatment and processed drinking water for a small municipality in Western new York state. I used to see inspectors like you quite often, they were some pretty nice fellows and usually stopped by our plant for coffee. I was wondering if you find many Indian artifacts on your land. We have a lot of them where I live near the Genesee river.

The rock trains are very heavy. Those trains originate in West Texas and New Mexico. The gray looking rock is from Northern Mexico. A lot of that goes to Florida. A lot also comes from South Eastern Kentucky/ Tennessee The white Sandstone starts in Kingsville, Texas. There's a massive Quarry on a average of 5-8 big trains during the week. All 3 railroads share those trains. They average 210 cars with a DPU in the Middle and one in the back. I saw one that had 2 KCS/ CP up Front 1 UP in the Middle 1 BNSF in the back They go fast in the country. And medium speed in the City. Those trains go to areas like Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida where the rock is used for Cement.
