Coney Island Cyclone 50th, Segment 2 MJE

Segments 1+ 2 of 7 of a 17 minute, 16mm film produced in 1977; the year of the coaster's 50th anniversary. As a significant film student's project, I gained access to the Cyclone by its owners and worked the platform for most of the summer of 1977. This film was shot on Kodak 7247 film stock using Arriflex BL and SP cameras. Sound was recorded on a Nagra 4.0(?). This film was nominated for a Student Academy Award by The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences and selected by the NYC Dept. of Parks 'Filmmobile' program during the summer of 1978. 'Coney Island Cyclone' was self-distributed and resides in about 25 libraries and collections worldwide, including The prestigious Donnell Library of the NYC library system. InJoy!
