We had a huge fun palace at Melbourne Luna Park..after it burnt down...they never rebuilt it...I knew the owners of Sydney's Luna Park in the early 80's....

It was named originally as an inside joke: in New York, Luna Park was within Coney Island, but in Sydney, Coney Island is within Luna Park. And just to add another layer of meta, there’s a model of the Luna Park entrance face inside Coney Island as well. 😎
