the mario 3 vs world debate has a very clear cut answer. If you are looking at the games in a vacuum present day, world is better. It has more levels, more secrets, more features, "better" graphics/sound, and is more polished. However, if you look at them in the context of when they were released and the systems they were released on, what Mario 3 achieved in 1988 on a system designed to kinda play Donkey Kong is revolutionary.

I think the only one I can't agree with was the take on ttyd from the video he was reviewing. Maybe it's because I have a bias against remakes. I think you should always play the first game over a remake of a 2nd game if you are able to. I can get it's not easy for everyone to do, especially with nintendo pinching money to allow you to play n64 games instead of just releasing virtual console versions again. But to me, I'll always have more fun playing paper mario 64 over ttyd, and it's not even childhood nostalgia as I didn't grow up with the n64 version

Actually true. I've realized over the years I'm kinda like coney and really not a big story person, but since playing Mother 3 I've been searching for that game story that'll give me that same feeling.

@@scouthatesrainbows I think it's because the game lets you play THROUGH the story, instead of just telling it to you. There's maybe one BIG lore Dump, well at the last chapter of the game. Otherwise you get to see it all happen before your eyes, and the way the town changes without saying a word. You feel bad when the town becomes empty. They don't just tell you "Hey all the people you loved are gone, here's why you should feel bad." They just plop you in there after a mission and it's like... dude.
