Just finished the assembly of this step unit. Not hard build lot repeating steps, no pun intended. So build goes fast. There is prep work like cutting locking wedges and seperating step balasters. I found just using using utility razor blade made quick work of task. Used it also cut out wedges locking for steps. When put together correctly easy build. I had 2 chances to get it right. The unit was 1300-1400$. However when you think of alternative that price very cheap. John 3:7.

How do you get this out of the water to close for winter

I purchased this and im having trouble keeping the inside steps from floating. I filled with sand just like the instructions say and also have water in them. It still seems to move around.

4:45. They say use the #7, "1 1/2" screws which they do give you in the kit but in the video they're clearly using shorter screws than "1 1/2" or even "1 1/4". The screws they provide in the kit are too long and stick out. My kit was shorted 2 single slats, the screw covers, and top step. We called and they were very accommodating with the step but sent us the wrong one. Finally the third time we called we got the right step. Putting it together today is when I noticed they shorted us on the screw covers and the 2 single slats. Another phone call. Yay. Besides my case I would still recommend this kit to anyone. I believe my case was just a one off situation

Can I ask anyone who owns these and lives in a climate where you need to winterize and close your above ground pool, how much do you need to take apart to get the ladder off the pool to be able to close/cover the pool? Thanks!

I wondered same thing. I dont think taking apart steps is option as over time material will fail. My only option is to get tarp that is big enough and make slits to accommodate stair rails maybe make velcro flat to hold flaps together. Im going modify tarp that came with pool..John 3:7.

I need to unscrew the posts and the top of the railings to remove the middle deck. the steps are both filled with sand and it's impossible to remove the inside stairs alone and difficult for two able bodied men. I'm trying to find some tricks here.

I have this ladder. Our new pool has sand for the coving so the ladder is to short for the inside. What to do?

All of a sudden out of no-where I noticed a couple of railings going into the water, where did they come from. and do they go to the bottom of the pool.

Do you have to fill it with sand for the outer part of the steps ladder? Or just for the inside? Or both? Thanks

juan v. The main reason for the sand for the inner steps is to keep it from floating and hold it to the floor of the pool. The outside steps are probably fine without the sand since in the end all parts will be screwed together. But, putting sand in the outside steps would add 20 pounds more of stability to the outside steps as well. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem. My old ladder I actually buried the first two steps on the outside ladder. Wish they would of answered your question

I purchases a set of stairs off amazon and received them. I called In the Pool and they told me I had to have an enclosure for it to hold weight. I'm concerned becasue seems like the top step of the enclosure sets on the pool. I have an above ground soft sided. Will this cause damage to our pool?

Mandi Mae I have the same type of pool and recently bought the inner steps, outer steps, and the enclosure. The top step comes with the enclosure. Without the enclosure you won’t have the top step. The top step is only brought down to just above the top edge of the pool. It does not sit on the pool frame itself. Hope this helps!

My wife and I spent about 8 hours assembling and installing a double ladder step system into a 12x24 Bestway rectangular abobe ground pool set up on a concrete pad. the pool was full of water. The problems we had were trying to follow the older videos that showed older CONFER equipment. I'M SUGGESTING TO CONFER TO MAKE NEW VIDEOS WITH THE NEWER EQUIPMENT AND TAKE DOWN THIS VIDEO ON KZbin. The same thing applies to the printed instructions. New printed instructions need new, better photos with purposely redundant written explanations that will best serve non-mechanically inclined homeowners, I am very mechanically inclined. I'm also suggesting to Confer to upgrade their injection parts moulding to make all parts separate from one another such as the locking wedges, the pickets and railing supports. making them in such a way that they have to be separated with a razor knife is not customer convenient for a non-mechanically inclined homeowner. I know it would be expensive to retool, but would pay off in future sales volume.
